COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Black beer, not pasteurized, top fermented. The natural refermentation in the bottle creates a soft and velvety head, cappuccino colored. Full flavored beer, with full body, its aroma reminds the toasting of barley coffee, cocoa, liquorice and rhubarb. Soft and creamy mouthfeel, with a round and structured aromatic feeling. We recommend to consume at 12° - 14° C. Ingredients: Monte Nerone water, barley malt, sugar, hop and... a lot of passion!

500ml bottle with plastic over the cap. Pours a brown cola color. It is thin all around for a stout, definitely one of those "belgian style stouts" which is like half dubbel half stout. Its okay, no overbearing stout characteristics, lots of yeast character, fruity esters. Its okay, glad to get it on a deep discount (probably because it doesn’t sell much).

Got this having had the red ale with my last bonus got the stout with this year’s bonus. Of course very expensive in the US. Aroma is light. Hints of espresso. Sweet shugar wine note almost. Looks... Like a Brown ale. Pours Brown. Dark brown in the glass. Minimal head. But and I rarely do this, gotta bump it up for the bottle. The bottle was very beautiful. Curvy black with a black capsule. Taste is amazing. Dry sweet. A little roasty. Alcohol kiss going down that fits perfectly. Almost like a wine. Not the traditional stout notes so much... A hint of espresso (although I paired the beer with actual espresso so..) a little acidic but in a good way. Different than a lactose sweet stout. Palate is dry. Medium body. Smooth. Yeah like a wine. Super dry. Very unique. I saw the ratings and I was all I just spent $$15 on this??? But this is a Damn good beer. Different than others in its driness. But the stout notes are there. The look in the glass is lacking but I think it’s a unique and well executed beer.

Fin mørk klar øl med brunligt flygtigt skum. Sødlig duft og smag med toner af anis og honning. Fint bud på en ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

bottle at Ft Wayne tasting, Sept 2013 - Pours very dark brown with minimal head and a fairly mild roasted malt aroma. It tastes of sweet chocolate malt mostly. There’s no noticeable hops presence. It’s bubbly and medium bodied with sweetness carrying through the finish. This is an okay beer, that’s about it.

In short: a too sweet dark ale
Pours cloudy dark brown with nice creamy tan head. Some gushing. Good head retention and some lacing. Medium body, crispy texture, high carbonation. Taste is sweet, caramel, liquorice, plums, raisins. Almost cloying. Sweet aftertaste.

Un tantino leggera, ma come stout fa il suo dovere. Nel gusto si percepiscono note di malti tostati, una leggera torrefazione e un ancora più leggero sentore di cioccolato. Il carattere è prevalentemente dolce, con un che di speziato. Discreta.

Picked up a bottle on the recommendation of a guy at a liquor store that did not know too much about beer, but he said he really enjoyed this one. Its not too bad. Dark brown pour with a tan head - almost too light to be a stout? Silly Italians. Lots of carbonation. Caramel / toffee nose. Smooth and easy to drink with lots of subtle notes coming through but the malt is quite prominent.

BB 2015, 500 ml bottle. Pours very dark brown almost black with lighter tan head. The head stays for a long time. Aroma: caramel, cream, metallic, hops. Taste: sour, watery, caramel, light bitterness, a little bit creamy. Finish is sour with hints of sweetness. Lively carbonation. Overall: good beer, taste is rather nice caramel and it really hides alcohol (8%) very well without the bitterness.

Darkest brown pour, almost black. Over-carbonated. Nose is light vanilla, dark cherry, plum, and light roasted malt. Flavor is faint chocolate/roasted malt with a predominant dark fruit and semi-sweet cherry. Carbonation takes away from body somewhat. Fairly smooth, but not overly stout-like.
