Commercial Description:
Originating with small craft brewers, brown ales became popular in England. They created this amber colored ale for its nutty toffee and caramel notes and a soft, smooth finish. This new brew of choice became known as Brown Ale. These ales were traditionally served draught style in neighborhood pubs with a generous froth spilling over the top of the pint glass. You'll discover that authentic Pub Pint taste and character thanks to our Colonial Pub Pint System. Millions of tiny bubbles release when you jopen a pint to give your beer a creamy head and smooth pub finish ... the way Pub Pints havae been enjoyed for generations. A big thanks goes out to CanIHave4Beers for the chance to taste this beer. Brownish hazy brownish orange color. Thin alabaster head. Some choco-malt inthe aromatic volatile sweetish lager aroma. Nice label on this 16 oz can. Almost heller or something in the aroma and taste. Quite beery in every aspect. Finsih is a bit sweet and perhaps not cloying nor syrupy. Not bad overall. Good beer in a can.

A little shocked this beer is only ranked in the 10th percentile, I even drank it head to head with Surly Bender and while it pales in comparison to that brew I would not say it is 83 percentage points worse. A little too over carbonated and a strange palate to it, but not a terrible brew all in all.

160z can: The whole "Pub Pints" angle seems a bit gimmicky. I cut the can open after pouring to look for some sort of "widget", but the can is empty. The beer does poor with an initially thick and healthy beige head, but it settles rather quickly as you begin to drink. The nose is sharp, almost tart, with alot of CO2 it seems. Eventually it settles and mild hints of caramel and esthery plum come forth. The body has a nice, creamy mouthfeel and is medium bodied. Notes of sweet caramel, honey and nuts are abound. Easy to drink and finishes just sweet enough to leave me wanting more. I kind of like this for a session brew, although the "extreme carbing" ruins the nose. Oh well, still a good drinker.

16oz can. Poured clear reddish-orange with a short cap of off-white/beige head. The aroma picked up sour fruit skins with caramel and nutty notes way in the background.. not good. The flavor was also marred by persistent fruit skin sourness and acidity.. caramel and some dark fruity sweetness come through on the back-end, and is almost decent for a split second.. this finishes very metallic, sour, and tacky. Light-bodied with higher carbonation.. sour, ugly, and lingering feel at the end. The worst part may be that being "light-struck" is ruled out b/c of the can, and I think this is a fresh batch.

Can purchased at the New Pioneer Co-Op in Coralville, IA. Dark orange amber body with a light kahki coloredv head. Smells of caramel and hot cream of wheat cereal. The taste has some light toffee and iced black tea. There is just a little bit of pear core in the finish. This is drinkable but certainly not pleasurable.

Medium head with a huge smell of chocolate and sweet malt. Nice full body and it delivers on the sweet malt and chocolate preview. There is a bit of metallic taste? I could accidently drink too many of these.

Pours amber with lasting tan head, looks good, smells of alumminum, very sweet, malty and slightly hoppy, this is one of the worst beers i have tasted, the only reason i gave it an overall 5 and not a 1 is because it looks pretty. I had to pour it out have way through.
