It was explosive upon opening and the doubts were confirmed immediately upon sniffing. Stale watery palate. Very dubious bottling line in this brewery.

Bottle. Pours a dark orange with a small white head. Nose is sweet malty with some citrusy notes. Taste is clean and refreshing with some sourness, maybe grape fruit, and the sweet malt coming through. The hops are very subtle. Decent beer with a nice full taste.

Bottle from Gordon and MacPhail, Elgin 061012 Golden, clear, big frothy head, some lacing Aroma - light pale malts, slight cereal biscuit, touch of hops, very light aroma but fresh Taste - very light pale malts, hint of soft cereal, very light citrus hop, very easy drinking. The flavour is subdued but there are no off flavours here which would be easy to spot in such a light brew. Fresh and clean. My palate is gasping for more flavour though Palate - soft carb, thin body, slightly oily. Finish - there’s a bit of a bitter tang to the finish Overall - There are no flaws with this beer apart from the fact the flavour is faint. I think it will appeal a lot to lager drinkers as its very easy drinking.

50cl bottle from Gordon and MacPhail. Pours golden with a gentle bubbles and a nicely proportioned head. The nose has nettles and limes with just enough pale malt in the background. More limes and fresh greens on the taste. The palate is light to medium in body with a tangy texture and a long clean finish. Overall, a good beer and I’m really confused by the other ratings.

Clear pale golden colour with small to average size off-white head.
Delicate fruity hoppy aroma with notes of yeast and bitterness.
Flavour is also quite mild with fruity hoppy elements as well as yeast and malt. No much bitterness in flavour.

On tap at the Crianlarich Hotel. Very tasty and balanced. Aromas of grapefruit, biscuit, and orange. Taste is sweet and bitter, with long length. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Yellow, with a thin head.

On cask at Cloisters. I have had this in a bottle before and remember enjoying it. I wonder if the recipe has changed because this was a very different beer, more like a saison. Poured a light golden colour with a fair white head. Aroma of lemon, apple, yeast and barley. Really quite musty with similar flavours. A very dry finish and mild carbonation. Will have to try this again.

Bottle @ chriso. Pours a pale yellow color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy grassy aroma. Fruity malty hoppy flavor. Has a fruity malty hoppy finish.

Bottle from Dobbies. Pours a murky, heavily sedimented orange with a slim white head. Pleasant, lightly buttered pine aroma. Clean and attractively soapy with light floral, lime jelly and piney hop. Husk and honey to finish. Good, but dirtied by bits as you hit the bottom, and pricey.

ChrisOs ’Donkey Dork Lord’ Pre-GBBF Tasting. Clear gold beer, good white head. Light lagerish malt, not much else going on. Hate to kick beers from new breweries but guys - you need hops to brew an IPA! Boring!

Not much to say about this, it’s just a perectly ordinary bitter. Well executed, clearly made from all the right ingredients in the right proportions, but not going much beyond that. Not bad for a bottled beer, doesn’t feel dead (and I don’t think it was BC, as it wasn’t yeasty).
