This beer is made with imported malts of the highest quality and the best coffee in the region of Upper Mogiana. This coffee is purchased directly from the producer, roasted and ground according to our specifications and macerated in cold water only to then be added to the mash brewer. Using this method we prevent the coffee aromas lose its best owing to the high temperatures present in the brewing process.
The Demoiselle name is a homage to the great Brazilian Alberto Santos Dumont, whose family owned coffee plantations in the region of Ribeirão Preto.
Thanks to the American brewer historian Randy Mosher for precious insight into the use of coffee in brewing.

Heavy initial aromas of roasted coffee, generic chocolate ice cream, forest earth, subtle grilled cherries. Almost black, bronze highlights, decently lasting khaki head. Dry, dried fruitiness, char, burnt chocolate. Full bodied, sticky.

RBHD Tasting. Thanks to the flying eagle, Olav. Pours all black with a small head. Aroma of weak roasted malts. Taste is light sweet chocolate, almost no roasted notes at all, not the best one to be honest.

Small shared bottle during RBHD geocatching session. Kindly provided by Olav. Deep opaque ruby mahogany colored body with a dense small light brown head. Turkish coffee and brown sugar on the nose. Medium to full bodied. Roasted flavors, sweet coffee.

Shared bottle at RB/HD at Askje 18.11.14. Very dark brown. Beige head. Slightly paperdry aroma with pine, dry wood, vanilla and dark coffee. Similar taste. Good drinkability.

Shared bottle at local tasting, thanks to our beerpal Olav. Black colour, moderate tan head. The aroma has dusty notes, nearly overshadowing the expected roasty notes. Moderate roasty notes in the flavour, also less pleasant dusty and grainy notes. Not the most successful porter in the world.

Mörkbrun öl med ett stort ljusbrunt skum. Doften är väldigt mycket nymalt kaffe. Även något lite choklad. Samma i smaken. Trots mycket kaffe känns ölen ändå balanserad och utan den bitterhet som finns i många kaffeöl.

UPDATED: DEC 2, 2014 600ml served in a pokal glass. A: Pours a dark brown almost black color forming a big bubbled tan head. Good retention and some nice lacings left S: Strong on coffee, roasted malts and dark chocolate. Biscuity too T: Roasted malts, coffee and dark chocolate. Upfront is mild sweet followed by a crispy roasted bitterness. Well balanced M: Medium body and carbonation. Aftertaste is roasted and bitter O: Very pleasant and drinkable Porter. Very honest and well done. My second favorite Colorado beer after their IPA [ BA Review @ 8/2/2012 ]
