4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
600ml bottle served in a pint glass.
A: Pours a dark brown color forming a medium bubbled beige head. Low retention and only few spotty lacings left in the glass
S: Sweet and roasty. Dark chocolate. Toffee. Caramel malts and rapadura
T: Sweet upfront. Notes of dark chocolate. Toffee. Candy sugar, brown sugar, rapadura. Strong notes of roasted malts. In overall, a bit too sweet with a nice roasted bitter end
M: Heavy, creamy and molasses body. Medium to low carbonation. Sweet and roasted aftertaste
O: Good drinkability. Nice Imperial Stout. Only a bit too sweet for the style

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Drank at Brasil Brau 2009. Really amazing beer! Became my favorite one here in Brazil. Black color with a nice and persistent foam, aroma is complex you can feel a lot of things as Burned sugar, coffee, chocolate and something more like toffee, really flavorful the High ABV is not too perceptible and this is a great point for me, also has a bitterness right at point. mouthfeel is a mix of bitterness and sweet. Wonderfull one!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Labelled as Guanabara
Tasted on 10/10/14 from a capped 600mL bottle purchased at Woodland Wine Merchant. Pours opaque dark brown with an average, smooth tan head that slowly recedes to average, uneven lace. The nose is dominated by brown sugar, molasses, and vanilla, with some more robust roast and dark chocolate underlying. The flavor is the same lightly sweet vanilla and brown sugar up front, moving to nice dark chocolate and molasses bitterness. The body is full and creamy with just under average, but still lightly stinging, carbonation, and a long bittersweet molasses, dark chocolate, and vanilla finish. Very nice.
