Bottle. Guanara. Pours black with tan head. Nose and taste is malted barley, brownie, fudge, roasted chocolate malt, cane sugar and sweet milk chocolate. Medium body. Finishes sweet chocolate. Very milky and fudgy. Solid beer.

16.4 oz bottle.
Deep black, with a creamy tan head, and sticky lace. Nitro like carbonation.
Aroma is dark fruit, molasses, anise, milk chocolate, creamy coffee.
Flavor is sweet, milky chocolate, coffee, molasses, licorice, all with a nice dark roasted malt bitter finish to keep it tempered.
10% abv is well hidden.
Bottle conditioned, so be sure to decant if you don’t want chunks of yeast in your glass. I didn’t see them until it was too late. Affected the flavor a bit in the second glass, but not enough to dock it. At $10 a 16 oz bottle, it is kind of pricey, but it sure was tasty.

50cl bottle via trade with some terrible wax job that’s more annoying than anything to open the bottle. BB 14/08/2016.

This was an amazing beer. labelled as "Ithaca", I ordered it through some online store in Brazil, before my visit. If you read portuguese, DrAlexandre (below) has a comprehensive history of this beer in what it refers to its name. The beer has a lovely dense black colour, with a thick (but not too creamy) brown head. Aromas of dark chocolates, molasses, nuts and raisins. The flavour is dark chocolates over the malts and that lovely "rapadura" (molasses brick) / toffee, that gives its enticing sweetness, balancing it perfectly against the roasted bitterness. Nutty, buttery, velvety and thick, it has a powerful body and the whole combination of challenges to our senses never gives us any hint of the rather high ABV. A thousand times better than its herbal sister, the Demoiselle, I thouroughly regret that I only ordered one bottle.

First smell is molasses, hint of cinnamon, cocoa smell, the look is jet black with a off-white head. The taste is a dry sweet, little bit of spice, slight bitter taste of chocolate. This is as close to any stout not being a milk stout I have ever tasted!!!!! Drink this very cold with some Mexican food and trust me, trust me you will thank yourself!

Bottle as Guanabara from Bottles N’ Bins in Monterey, CA. Pours very dark brown with a dark tan head. Aroma of darker milky chocolate and maybe sugar. Full bodied or nearly. Flavor is chocolate, some coffee, some dark treacle, and it finishes a lot less than dry, but somehow not exactly sweet. There is some heat, strongly in the gullet. Still, it drinks nicely, and it stands out from the common crowd, flavor wise.

Mondial 2015.

Bottle. Black with a tiny mocha ring. The nose is strong anise, black licorice and some raspberry(?) The taste adds roasted malts and sweet dark sugar finish. A bit thin on the feel but, that adds a very drinkable balance to the cane sugar. Pretty solid. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rich, anise nose leads to a velvety full mouthfeel. Flavor of sweet, roasty malts and herbal anise. This thick imperial stout is as black as night and really boozy. Made with pure black rap adults cane sugar, this bold brew is crafted to leave its mark.
