COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Aromas of fruity hops and caramel. Pours a hazy orange with a thick off white head. Lots of lacing. Tastes of juicy hops, sweetness from the rapadura cane sugar, with a lingering bitter grapefruit finish.

Location: 600 ml bottle from Central Market, 6/25/13

Aroma: The nose has lots of sugar and caramel to go with the fruity and floral hops
Appearance: Pours a clear copper color with a frothy off-white head and some sticky, drippy lace
Flavor: The taste is on the sweeter side for this style, but there’s enough hop balance to keep it honest
Palate: The body is medium, it has a decent stickiness, some mild heat, and a light dryness
Overall Impression: First Brazil tick, and it is a pretty good one to boot! This is one of the more sweet examples of this style that I can think of. The cane sugar definitely comes through. The hops are there as well, certainly noticeable, but maybe not quite up to the level of the sweetness. Generally, I tend to prefer less sweet beers, but still, I think this beer worked, and I can’t really explain it.

BrunoVille (37) - BRAZIL - JUN 21, 2013
---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours light orange-amber with small but persistent off-white head. Aroma- grass and fruit hops. Spicy. Taste- floral beginning, sweet turnover at end of nutmeg, long bitter floral and grapefruit. Aftertaste- long bitter grapefruit and grass. Well-palated imperial.

Buddy just brought back from business trip so should be fresh. Some caramel on the nose. Deep Amber brown. Kind of cloudy. Some unclean elements to finish. Uhmm....also: hops? This wouldn’t even pass as an IPA in US or UK let alone an Imperial.

Watery ipa. I know they have problems growing hops in brazil. It is obvious to discerning tastes. This is not syrupy. Resinous. A double ipa would be. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Ambr pour. New import. Unfortunately it is stale upon arrival to the US. Bummer.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

bottle at mondial de la bière, mtl. clear golden orange with a nice light beige-orange head, good retention and lacing. resin, caramel, toffee, raisins, cloying sugars, toasted golden candi. average carbonation, medium to full body - oily, resiny-piney finish. heavy stuff, bw-style. still.. well done.

Complex and strong. You can taste high alcohol, but it did not break the flavor. Almost no aftertaste and high biterness.
