COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Surprisingly good brew! Never saw it coming. A Brazilian Imperial IPA with real sugar cane. Pine coney aroma. Dense, foamy head. Earthy hops. Full bodied. No cloying aftertaste. Extremely refreshing. The booze seems balanced and evenly distributed. It is a little bitter than how I like my IPA’s as I tend to like them cleaner but this one is nonetheless pretty good. Colorado never puts out garbage. They just have lots of breweries and dispensaries at this point.

Shared 20 oz. bottle. Amber with a lasting soapy white head. Good lacing. Aroma of citrus, malt, and faint pine. Caramel, malt, citrus, pine, and alcohol flavors. Malt has the upper hand in this one. Hops flavors are there, but more in the background. Medium-bodied. A somewhat bitter finish. Decent.

Aroma: classic IPA hoppy aroma; Appearance: dark amber with billowy head and good lacing; not as dark as typical IIPAs; Taste: definitely on the bitter side; a bit unbalanced; pretty smooth; not too bad; Palate: medium body with long, bitter finish; Overall: decent, but in a crowded field of good beers. Would probably not get again, but that’s just because there are other choices -- not necessarily a reflection on this one.

5/I/16 - ?cl bottle from a trade @ home - BB: 6/III/16 (2016-12) Thanks to marlos for the trade!

Clear deep orange to almost pinkish red beer, big irregular creamy yellow head, pretty stable, adhesive. Aroma: sweet, bit funky, heavy sugary notes, banana, honey. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: very bitter, resinous, bit chemical, soft fruity touch, sweet, sugary, paint thinner. Aftertaste: alcohol, sticky, some caramel, malty, pretty bitter, more alcohol.

Visual: Pours translucent bring amber orange with lots of large bits of suspended sediment, barely any head, thin ringed retention, singular streams scattered about. Nose: honey brown sugar barley malt. (lvl-4)-pungency Attack: slick-thick-half crisp, micro fizzy, incoming alcohol heaviness Mid-palate: alcoholic heat, (lvl-7)-sweetness, (MAIN) cane sugar, toffee barley malt, alcoholic bitterness & numbness Finish: citrus hints, malty alcoholic finish. Summary: Yikes there’s a whole lotta detectable alcohol in this one. Drinkable, but somewhat crude and unrefined.

Fair enough.

Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours clear amber with off-white head. Aroma of caramel; fruity. Tastes sweet with bitter finish. Not an imperial IPA, rather an American barley wine.

Rating #1409 - 25.12.2014 - 330mL Bottle #20 in the 2014 Craft Beer Advent Calendar. Pours a cloudy amber, with a bubbly tan head. Aroma is spicy, earthy hops, mild berry sweetness, mild citrus. Taste is extremely hoppy, lots of piney, resinous notes, again subtle orange sweetness. Fairly balanced in terms of hop profile, and managing the ABV, this is a solid DIPA.
