Transfer from BA review on 8-13-12 - Poured from 40 into a pint glass and then just drank straight from the bottle Appearance – Pours a straw color with a fine white head that faded very rapidly. Smell – The smell was of corn and a light skunk and biscuit smell. Taste – The taste began of malt and corn mixed with a sweeter caramel like flavor. As the taste advances further the caramel fades, the corn intensifies. At the end a corny and slightly skunky flavor are left on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body is thin and the carbonation is high making for one easy downing brew. Overall – Well.. not tons of flavor, but it’s a cheap malt so what do you expect. Not great, but not offensive. A standard malt.

Can from the gas station. Pours a transparent gold with the thinnest of thin ring of off white head. Aroma of cheap ass malts. Taste of basically malts.

Malty, boozy beer fix. A little better than some of the other beers out there, and therefore drinkable.

Somehow, I’d never tried a malt liquor, but I remember my times as a kid picking up aluminum cans, and Colt 45 was one I found often. I bought my first bottle tonight. Pours a light straw yellow with a medium thickness very fine head. Constant carbonation bubbles, and some lacing on the glass. Aroma is grains with a metallic quality that can’t have come from the clear glass bottle it is in. Taste is the same. Not much of anything interesting happening with this, but it’s certainly not bad.

40oz (Old Notes)--Pours a clear golden with a big head. Aroma of corn and grains. Taste of the same. This medium bodied brew filled the purpose.

24oz can from Food Lion. I think I paid $1.39 for this. Golden hue with one finger thick mostly diminishing white frothy head. Good lacing. Water, corn, funk and light fruit on the nose. Major skunk up front and water with a medium malt and corn finish. Lively carbonation, watery texture on the palate. For $1.39 I caught a good buzz early in the evening, I am not sure if it tastes better in a paper bag, but it looked pretty good in my snifter.
