MrBeerFanatic (344), jamestown, New York, USA May 18, 2008 Well I must say that this malt liquor isn’t the worst. Matter of fact its not to bad for a malt liquor, but as a beer taste horrible still. I usually can only find this avaliable in 40oz’s. Has that awkward sweet taste with a nasty aftertaste. Every time I see this beer I get that afroman song stuck in my head. "I drank a colt 45 and two zig-zags......" Unique69crazy (119), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA May 5, 2008 The correct answer is no, I will not touch this, this is cheap tasting and cheap altogether. Enough said mhelgason (495), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA Apr 18, 2008 Oh yeah bring it on Billy Dee! Wait what I am talking about...this is just as bad as most of the Malts I have been trying of late. cheap corn, some grass, and light alcohol. I was hoping with this one’s history I would find something unique, but unfortunately that did not happen. changeup45 (782), Orlando, Florida, USA Apr 10, 2008 Had this once and I can say it was once too much. Awful! Got sick and never had this again. It is cheap but there are cheap enough beers to get so you can stay clear of this one." Gypsy19 (602), California, USA Mar 25, 2008 I can only assume that the 40 I bought is of the 6% variety, considering that it matches the photo and seems to be the most common. Jeez, who knew Malt liquor was so diverse? Typical ghetto-juice here. Not nearly as bad as Steel Reserve or Olde English 800, but not as drinkable as King Cobra or Country Club. Somewhere in the middle. 8 ounces into this, and I’m already feeling buzzed. And I’ve only drank 20 cents worth; The beauty of ghetto-juice. dm9831 (1167), Monee, Illinois, USA Mar 25, 2008 poured from a really catchy named "double duece" 22 oz. bottle (what the heck does ’double duece’ mean? huh? oh. never mind). light golden colored, medium white head. palate is medium bodied with a cloying sweetness. probably pretty good with pancakes. Wulfstan (509), California, USA Mar 24, 2008 Updated: Jun 9, 2008This is ok and is rather reminiscent of Mickey’s but more alcoholic and with a somewhat stronger corn taste. It’s yellow, quite bubbly with a medium, bubbly white head that steadily dissipates to nothing. The aroma is sweet perfume, grain, corn, crackers, with a hint pf pine and a little alcohol evident - like a stronger, sweeter, more perfumy US macro lager smell. The taste is quite sweet with a lot of grain, especially corn, with a definite but not unpleasant alcoholic quality leaving a warm, acloholic, corn-tasting finish with a light bite. It has almost no bitterness and can have a light soapy quality in the end and gets a little watery. It goes all right with food. WHile hardly great and no where near even the best malt liquor, this is to me far better than a lot of other malt liquors. LinusStick (1830), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 21, 2008 Ugh! I tried this again just to see if I hate malt liquor as much as I thought. I do. Not much else to say. Aroma is sweet corn and metal. Pour is nice enough. A medium gold with a 2 finger white head. Taste was carbonated sugar water with a splash of metal. Heavy carbonation which is good so when you throw the stuff up (if you drink a whole bottle) it hurts just as much coming out as it did going in. Side note: I see this is listed as "On tap:Available". If I EVER go somewhere and they have Colt 45 on tap, I’ll smack the bartender and walk out.
