Slightly sweet and super smooth Colt 45 is the malt liquor that works every time.

Poured a deep gold with a light head and lingering lace. Aroma was primarily of sweet malts - not bad. Taste was of malts and slight graininess with a light hop finish. Not great, but not terrible either. Palate was OK. Overall, a decent malt liquour by Miller for Pabst.

UPDATED: JUL 1, 2015 16 oz. can from the bargain bucket at Greenís. Pours a weak, clear yellow, with a big, bubbly, white head. The aroma is relatively unoffensive corn syrup, cereals, and some light saaz hops. Sweet corny flavor, with just the faintest touch of bitterness. Light, but harsh, mineral aftertaste. Light body, slick, a little astringent, and fairly unpleasant. This is a reasonable malt liquor, which means it doesnít make me want to pour it out immediately. Drinkable, which is about the best compliment I can give it.

Pours a very clear, clean dark straw color. Nice thin foamy head, with some better than expected lacing. A few large bubbles are popping up from the bottom.

Aroma is heavy with roasted malt, alcohol, and tap water. Thereís corn in it, smells somewhat like corn flakes.

Tastes pretty good. I mean, itís not offensive. Itís not complex or anything. It tastes like most malt liquors do, or for that fact most any regular beer. Itís heavy on lightly roasted malt. Lots of corn, and grass. Itís sweeter than most regular beers, but not too much so. Iím drinking from a can, so the metallic Iím tasting might be from that. But I also taste some alcohol.

Mouthfeel is pretty light. Itís quite smooth. Itís very drinkable. It goes down so easy! Thereís a little bit of bitterness from the alcohol at the end. But not much. But itís more sweet than the bitter, so really, the finish isnít so bad.

Overall, itís pretty good. Iím a little wary of malt liquor because of a bad experience with Schlitz. But this is good, and for the price, itís a good beer at a great value. I would certainly recommend!

Colt 45 is just another malt liquor for the most part. It doesnít subscribe to the overbearing sweetness factor like some others, however. Smell is wet hay and some light corn and flowers. Appearance, nothing, nil. The color is nice sort of. Taste is mostly smooth, but a little rough especially if youíre drinking from a 40 and it starts to warm up. Overall, it is not to be missed if you enjoy the malt liquor

Pours clear gold with a little fizzy head; no lacing and lots of carbonation. No real aroma. Taste is tons ío malt, some fusel alcohols, fruity. Light palate but quenches well. Watery finish with a faint bit of grassy hops. I was pleasantly surprised for a 0/100 beer. Worth a buck fifty for a tall boy for sure.

Not as good as OE in my opinion and way below Mickeys. Overly sweet and watered down.

Enjoyed ice cold from the 40oz bottle, old school & gangsta. Was expecting worse, instead got an easy to drink & sweet thirst quencher. Would be ok on a summer day. Still too grainy for my taste but nothing horrible or deserving a 0 out of 100.
