COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For over 4 decades, Colt 45 Premium Malt Liquor has been the "class of all malt liquor brands". With its smooth and distinct flavor and historic affiliation with Billy Dee Williams, it has become an urban American icon. If you’re looking for a thick 40, or an ice cold shorty, Colt 45 is the malt liquor that works EVERYTIME!

(Bottle 118 cl) Pilsener golden with a rough, white head. Sweet’n’sour aroma. Medium body with sweetish accents of chicken fodder - a.k.a. brewing syrup and brewing cereals. No real bitterness. Gee, these 40 ounce bottles are real muthafuckers.... 260306

We’re heading up to the cottage for the August long weekend and my girlfriend decides she’s going to drink animal beer that weekend. So she buys some Kingfisher, Dogfish Head, the turtle Rescousse, Giraf Strong, Black Sheep Ale, Mongoose, Schlitz Red Bull, and Colt 45. I double checked my database and realized that I’ve never had any Colt 45. Since I was going to help her out with some of the strong stuff anyway, I decided to write notes. Light bronze colour. The aroma is slightly cidery, vaguely malty, with some higher alcohols. Drinkable – with touches of malt alongside the expected raunch of cider and fusels. Sweet, with a hot finish. Like most malt liquors, is utterly unpalatable after the first half, when it loses the palate-deadening ice cold sensation.

(Bottle) Pours a clear golden color with a bubbly white head. Not the worst tasting malt liquor, but on the other hand, how many good malt liquors are there?

From the Can at the GABF, Colorado Convention Center 2007 Sampled more out of curiousity as I used to chug this stuff in my youth before I had discovered the delights of real beer. Thick white head. Grainy aroma. Clear golden coloured and floral. Crisp and smooth on the palate with a slightly dry malt finish.

Bottle. Clear yellow colour with a white bubbly fairly lasting head. Sweet grainy aroma. Sweet bready flavor with grains and alcohol. Mild sweet dryish finish.

Can... Clear, light yellow lager with a large, fizzy, white head. Corn and black pepper aroma. The flavor is of alcohol and corn. Medium-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Finishes metallic, bitter and alcoholic.

Bottled, pasteurised. Pale Golden with carbonated head. My deliberate policy of trying to get to know USA beers is not doing me any good. This is a bad memory from the past which I thought they had dropped. Poor sweet corn flavours with a sickly malt. EEEuukk

Been looking for this for weeks. Hard to find around Sacramento. Now I got my own TWO FOUR. Whoo. Have not had this in decades. Aroma is kind of dusty, has pale malt, and arguably a hint of hop. The color is pale brassy gold, and the white head didn’t hold up well. Thin to medium body with fizzy/creamy carbonation. The flavor is pale malt, and any hop is just a dream. The finish is actually clean, and some hop does build. Probably one of the better macro malt liquors.
