For an extra kick, get some Colt 45 Hight Gravity. It has a higher alcohol percentage than traditional colt 45, so make sure you can handle yours.

Pours yellow, with a white head. Aroma is corn, grain, malt, and a little fruit. Flavor is corn, fruit, grain, and alcohol. Not too bad, certainly drinkable.

24oz big boy can. Found this gem at a sketchy place downtown. Bought some cheap incense and a black n mild as well. Smell is corn booze and white grape mixed but mild as hell. Was hoping the 8.5% would pop more. Wow - big sugary sweet, apple, spoiled grapes. Messy and really not enjoyable. Big flavor just not the right flavor.

Bought at TERRIBLE HERBST gas station on Russell road, Las Vegas! A bad beer, but drinkable ice cold, otherwise a corn ridden crappy beer, but drinkable ice cold, reminds me of some cheap Russian/Dutch forte lagers! lol....

This is really interesting stuff for as much as I’ve had it before I got into better stuff, here goes: It pours a clear golden color leaving more a hazy body. There is no head and barely any lacing. What lacing there is is somewhat spotty. The smell is all about the malts, hops don’t exist in this, as there is no such thing as balance, I guess in this style, oh well, I didn’t make it. The taste is once again, malts, sugary and sweet, no balance again whatsoever. The palate is raw and harsh on the tongue, at about a light to medium. Overall, yeah, I wouldn’t come back to this, boy oh boy, not sure who really drinks this stuff, but whoever does, all yours as I won’t come back to this.

UPDATED: JUN 28, 2010 Rollin’ with mydudes. Yellow pour with a nice sized white head. Aroma is booze, spoiled dark fruit, and grain. Flavor is similar but adds some nice plum, grape, raisin, and other rotting dark fruits into the mix. Reminds me a bit of westy 12 in the department. Booze becomes apparent when it warms and kind of stands off on it’s own.

Colt 45 High Gravity Lager has a thick, white head and a clear, golden color. Carbonation is moderate to high. The aroma is of corn and malt, but not particularly strong. The taste is surprisingly mild for an 8.5% abv beer. This drink does not taste strong, if anything, it has a stereotypical beer flavor, so I’d say the alcohol is pretty much hidden. Mouth-feel is moderately heavy. This finished crisp, which was a further surprise. I thought Colt 45 HG (poured from a 16 oz. can) was very full-flavored and enjoyable. I recommend giving this one a try. By the way, it is NOT available in Louisiana. I bought it on a road trip in New York City. RJT

24 oz can. Corn sweetness, some soap, alcohol burn, chemical aftertaste. Not my favorite ML ever.

Was kind of terrified to sip this, because my last malt liquor experience ruined my palate for a long while. Thankfully, this wasn’t nearly so terrible. Gold pour with a bubbly white head. Straightforward sweet corn and honey nose. Has a simple, inoffensive corny flavor, sweet throughout. It would not be hard to finish a 24 of this.
