Growler from the Brewery - Everything about this beer is classic oatmeal stout. Nice roasted malt, thick rich mouthfeel finishing slightly dry and chalky. Nothing mind bending but Stumblers comes together with a feeling that is reminisent and well represented.

"Bitter xchocolate and roasted malt and coffee nose. medium bodied with a dry finish. I actually liked a couple porters betterm but not too shabby..."

Bottle. Pours a near black color with a smallish light tan head on there. Nose is roasty and a little bit bitter, but seems very much like a bleh stout. Taste is much of the same, and while pleasant, does not engender anything memorable.

Poured a clear dark reddish rown with a lingering ring of tan foam. Aromas of roasted malt, dark chocolate, carmel and light vanilla. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of roasted malt, bitter chocolate and earthiness with a smooth lingering earthy chocolate finish.

Draught at the brewery during Zwickelmania 2013. Not a big aroma, some limited chocolate notes. Slight dark brown color. Good chocolate initial, and then an interesting wine-like flavor comes up / mid much the same / fizzy and trails of hop bittering in the finish. The said that this one has won numerous awards. I found it pleasant enough.

Draught at brewpub. Black body with beige head. Full aroma with malty and oatmeal aroma. Medium to full body more maltiness. A good stab of hop. Sweet malt finish, but not too sweet. Would go good with fruit.
