Jvittorio4187 (255), Boardman, Ohio, USA Apr 4, 2007 Massive malt of the nose. Clear copper in color. Nice! Roasted, smokey, scotch flavor. One of the better scottish ales i’ve had. Darkover (1200), Columbus, Ohio, USA Sep 7, 2006 Dark red/brown with a thick tan head. Rich roasted malt aroma. Flavor of roast and malt with some bitterness in the finish. Glouglouburp (1935), Montreal, Quebec, Canada May 20, 2008 In short: A superior (way superior) Scottish Ale. Superb session beer.
How: Tap at Surly Girl Salon (a few miles north of the Columbus Brewing brewpub)
The look: Clear amber body with a small beige head
In long: Crisp toffee, creamy caramel and dried fruits are the upfront flavours. Light woody touch, tree bark and some dry raisins. Something about the hopping makes this beer a stand-out. It’s got this fluffy dry tree leaves finish that works very well with the rest of the beer. It was about my 12th pint of the day and I still went through it like if it was my first one. Truly an excellent session beer. Certainly one of the best Scottish Ale I’ve ever had. So good in fact that even a Scottish would be happy to pay for one… almost. POD (191), USA Sep 23, 2006 Bottle. Beatiful dark brick red pour with huge frothy thick head. Aroma was of roast malt. My first taste left foam on my nose and a "Got Milk" mustache! Very suprising flavor! I actually thought that I was drinking a chocolate stout! Smooth full bodied mouthfeel. Flavor was burnt cooking chocolate and malt. The finish was a nice dry bitter chocolate. I really enjoyed this drink and can’t wait to try it again. Rogueone (365), I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio, USA Jun 24, 2008 Bottle: This is actually a pretty tasty beer. Pours a deep amber, aroma is toasted nuts and caramel malts. Flavor is crisp and sweet, a little hollow, traces of popcorn, caramel malts, and dark sugars. Very good.
