COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A crisp lager-like blonde ale brewed with Vienna malt for superior smoothness. Refreshing and brisk, this beer has a sweet, bready aroma and represents a very popular pre-prohibition style beer. Available on draft and in bottles.

300 beers and no end in sight. I am glad I snagged a Columbus brew for the occasion. I am not sure how to classify this beer, an American Blonde I guess. Tart bitter hops aroma with a hint of banana. Golden color with a thin white head and active carbonation. This beer retained the somewhat sharp hops favor throughout. The bitterness really had legs and kept the finish interesting. Overall the CBC has not let me down yet.

Had a few bottles of this after work. This brew pours a hazy light straw. The large white creamy head is fully lasting and has good lacing. The bold nose is sweet toasted malt, fruit, pepper, resin, and leathery yeast. The well balanced flavor reminds me of a Dortmunder. The rich finish is long and bitter. The light to medium body is creamy with lively carbonation. The finish feels astringent. Solid.

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2005 Yellow color clearly; lightly veiled and much bubbly. Decided, attractive scent. Green apple aroma and wheat, intriguer. Round taste but not too much light. Fresh and of optimal duration with a sweetish end. Unusual.

This beer poured a very light golden color and formed a nice white head that didn't hold and left trace amount of lace. Slightly cloudy with a small amount of carbonation present. The aroma was of hops and citrus. The flavor was of hops and citrus, but a bit bitter, which I usually don't expect in this style. It had a light finish. Not a bad beer, but not one of this brewers better ones

UPDATED: FEB 2, 2003 Hazy goldon color. Minimal head. Nice bit of hops in the finish. Mildly sweet body with some fruit that I can't put my finger on. Bonus for being made in Cow Town.

Columbus Brewing’s beers have recently reappeared on the shelves in NE Ohio, so i took the opportunity to try them all again. This is a nice mellow golden ale, sweet with lemon edges; a mostly dry and mildly hopped finish. Easy to drink and good looking too.

This is milder than I generally like in an ale. Good color, slightly sweet, no bad aftertaste.

This gives me a slight stinging sensation in the back of my throat. Interesting aroma, there are definitely some fruit and spices in there, although I can’t pinpoint exactly what I am smelling. This is a little bitter tasting for me.

bee pollen golden with a clean white collar. damp hay barn smell, or that raw spilt grain smell i associate with train tracks by grain elevators, a bit of bread dough and lightly pickled cucumber. i guess this is what they call "firm bodied": stiff as wheat stubble, brisk with carbonation and clean with parchment dry hops. grapefruit bitterness with very little other fruity aspects, though warming was somewhat remedial in that respect and yielded some grapefruit peel. not my favorite style, but i bravely saw it through with a belch and a smile.

Originally put the wrong description. This golden ale is very pale with no head to speak of. Mild hop aroma is rosy. Good carbonation and body. Leaves a light crisp taste with mild bitterness that lingers at the end. One of the better light ales at CBC.
