Sample from growler at Ale Wine & Spirits in Powell on 09/09/2011. This is the September Hop Odyssey beer. Pours a deep clear copper-amber color with a medium beige head that recedes slowly. Rings of lacing on the glass. Hoppy aroma that has notes of citrus and malt behind it. Medium body with flavors of grapefruity hops and sweet caramel malt, plus a bit of pine in the background. The finish is toasty malt at first and leaves a lingering citrusy hops aftertaste. Above average overall.

Draft at tapping party at Park Street Tavern. Poured a hazy copper color with an average fizzy off-white head that was mostly lasting and had good lacing. Good earthy & leather hop & toasted malt aroma. Medium to full body with smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bitter flavor with a medium bitter finish of moderate duration. Good brew.

Pint at Gallo’s. Clear red pour with a medium tan head. Dank malt aroma with bright citrusy hops. Citrusy hop flavor at first, but the dank malt and caramel take over before an earthy and bitter hop finish.
