4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: AUG 2, 2012 Appears a hazy orange-to-golden color with a nice white head. The aroma is full of floral and earthy notes. The taste is very balanced, not overly bitter. There are also good floral notes here. The malts are very bready, almost like a biscut. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with the right amount of carbonation. Definitely a very drinkable IPA. Overall, a great brew. Glad I can find it pretty easily around here.

4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
A - A murky golden orange color without a lot of bubbles, but a beautiful two finger foamy white head. Definitely unfiltered. This one leaves a lacing like no other beer Iíve seen.
S - Strong notes of citrus hops dominate this one, very fruity with a faint faint touch of pine. A sweet maltiness is also apparent.
T - Wow, this tastes like grapefruit, only 20 times better. Fruity, citrusy, sweet, and slightly bitter. The sweet malts come through on the back end of this one. Not much alcohol apparent. A finely balanced beer and one of the most delicious Iíve tasted.
M - It feels a little more carbonated than I suspected, but as smooth as Iíve ever tasted. Goes down easy and not as big as some IPAs. This is very nice.
D - I feel sorry for the IPA lovers that havenít had a chance to try this one. This is a beer you can ride on all night and never get tired of it. An easy drink and extremely refreshing at that.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from a bottled 2 days ago into a tulip glass clear yellow gold with an impressive white head.
Aroma is beautifully pine.
Flavor even better than aroma. Clean cut pine trees with slight malts. Truly an incredible IPA. Even with west coast preference (by birth) in beers this brew makes me step back and realize how truly great Midwest brews have become.
Makes many IPAs seem half assed.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Iíve had Columbus IPA many times before with it being a local favorite of mine, but surprisingly Iíve never reviewed it until now!
12 ounce bottle. Served in a Columbus Brewing Company pint glass, the beer pours a hazy orange/amber color with about an inch off-white head that stays around for a while. Thereís a lot of lacing left on the glass. Aroma is mostly citrusy hops (tropical fruit, orange, grapefruit, mango), along with some piney hops and a bit of sweet malt. The taste is pretty much just like the aroma, itís full of citrusy and pine hops, and thereís some light malt in there too. Thereís also a very long lasting bitter hoppy finish. Mouthfeel/body is medium, itís a bit slick and creamy with good carbonation. This is one of my favorite IPAís, and Iím glad this is made here in town and is readily available in the area. Definitely recommended.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Always grab some sixers of this when in OH visiting the in-laws. Noticed I never gave this a proper review. 12oz bottle into a goblet. The pour yields a dark honey-amber with a thick frothy bone-white head. Great retention, with spotty lace left behind. Pine, citrus, floral overtones. Nothing new here, but the aroma is so potent and fresh. Love it.
Medium carbonation gives this beer enough heft to hold up the flavors, but without any lasting astringency. The reason I love this beer so much is the perfect balance between the bitter hops and sweet malty backbone. I would say this even leans slightly to the sweet side, which isnít a detriment to it at all. Grapefruit, musk melon, orange give this a nice fruity quality. The hops add just a touch of oily feel as well, and they donít linger too long on the aftertaste. Just enough "burn" to satisfy the hop-head in me, but fleeting enough to keep me gulping this one. This is one of the most drinkable and approachable IPAs I have had, and it will be one I continually buy when in the area. Canít wait until Christmas when I can get some more!

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle pour. Orangish reddish brown. Aroma of sweet malt and tropical fruit. An easy drinker with just the right amount of passion fruit bitterness to linger.

4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Great IPA. Rarely would a Michigan fan call anything with Columbus on it great... But this is great. Good flavor and aroma of hops. Good pour with nice head and lacing.

On tap at Columbus Brewing. Hazy orange gold color with a thin creamy head. Big aroma of fresh piney hops and muted citrus. Flavors are an explosion of fresh pine and crisp citrus. Wonderfully dry finish with fresh floral hops. Creamy mouthfeel. Delicious, crisp and dry version of an American IPA. Great beer!
