Dogbrick (4837) - Columbus, USA - SEP 17, 2009
Sample at the North Market Microbrew Festival on 09/12/2009. The beer is a brownish-black color with a medium tan head that dissipates steadily. Thick rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma is almost all coffee, plus a bit of malt. Rich and smooth body with a strong roasted coffee flavor and notes of chocolate malt and hops. The finish is roasty with a moderately bitter coffee aftertaste. I enjoyed this one overall.

Pours a deep brown/black with a tan head. This beer should just be called Java Java Java for its coffee aroma and taste. A truly unique porter taste with it almost tasting like an iced coffee. Since I love coffee, i loved this beer. Very drinkable too. Sample at the microbrew festival at North Market

JaBier (3212) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - SEP 29, 2009
Sample at the North Market Microbrew Festival on 09/12/2009 (happy 29th berfday to me). Pours black with a thin tan head. Strong coffee aroma with a hint of cream. Malty flavor with a ton of coffee and a semi-creamy finish. Some people like subtlety in their coffee beers...if so don’t drink this!!! It left coffee grounds in my glass. Since I don’t care for subtlety on the coffee side, very well done for Eric and the crew on this one.

Darkover (1448) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - FEB 1, 2008
Dark brown with a small brown head. Coffee aroma. Flavor of coffee and roasted malts. The coffee flavors are pretty good and not overwelming.

Draft at brewpub. Dark brown color with an average creamy brown head that mostly diminished with fair lacing. Moderate roasted coffee aroma. Medium to full body with smooth slick texture. Medium sweet roasted coffee flavor with a light dark chocolate bitter finish of moderate duration.
