3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 frankenkitty (1958) - Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA - JUL 16, 2007
Mid-amber with a small white head leaving light sheets of wet lace. Orange & dry tea notes (instant tea) in the nose, rye & more bittering late. Pleasant, bitter hopped flavor, light pepper & citrics before a sweetly citric finish. As per the menu, this one has a, "log, dry finish." Nice.
Note: Yes... the menu said, "log".

Gentle hoppy nose. Clear orange amber in color with a decent white head. Sweet hoppy flavor with a little bitter aftertaste. Finishes dry. A slight warm, frothy mouth feel. A pleasant pale ale. Not outstanding, but not uneventful either.

Good ale had on tap at a Steakhouse, for a relaxing time. Poured a typical amber body with a peppery taste.

UPDATED: AUG 13, 2008 A light hop aroma, almost no head which is surprising. A fairly consistent bite throughout. Decent
First score 4.1 A nice beer with a good bite. Similar to the classic pale of Sierra but with a little nutty note. A very drinkable pale ale.

Nice hop aroma. Nice balance of bittering hops. Semi aggressive taste just lingers. Much better than Stone’s pale ale.

From notes.
Pours an orange tinged copper, with a one finger head that recedes quickly to a thin ring that leaves behind a sparse webbing of lace.
Smell; mostly piney and citric hops, but neither one really jump out at you. A bit of sweet malts are present, but I can smell a little bit of diacytle as well.
Taste; the hops come off as piney with a little citrus, backed my some caramel malts. The diacytle is even more pronounced in the flavor than it was in the smell, and almost overrides the other flavors. Maybe I just really don’t like butter in my beers and I have a hard time getting past it.
Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied, and because of the buttery flavors, this one is hard for to drink.

Nice light hop aroma--mostly floral. Reddish brownin color with a decent head. The palate is medium to full for the style. Nice floral hop taste and good malt balance. Really solid APA--very enjoyable.
