A crisp unfiltered Kellerbier. This traditional Bavarian style originated from the small artisanal breweries of Franconia, where Kellerbier is still a favorite beverage in the local beer gardens.

Flight at CBC. Light color yellow small white head. Aroma of grass, citrus and biscuit. Taste is refreshing with grass and spices. Also a slight bitter finish. Floral hints at very end.

Pours a lighter copper with a white head. Aroma is grassy and cereal. Taste is very bready with a bit of a sweet herbal note. Very light and easy to drink. I could easily have drank the whole growler.

Very nice pour frommah bottle; lots of sediment on the bottom of this bottle. Rocky head tho not creamy. Ever so slight light aroma of old cigarette. Good co2 from the start but it fades after a while. First taste does shed some light on this style, which I forgot since the last. Somewhat odd in flavor, but I must say it is on style fer sure. A simple easier keller which I could live with.

Tap from the restaurant. Jaded since it was flat but this review is from before. Great crisp light mouthfeel and decent balance of light taste and sweet fullness. ---Rated via my mouth

12 oz. bottle. Pours a semi-cloudy orange-gold color with a finger of frothy, soft eggshell white head. Aroma of bread, straw, grass- very simple and clean. Flavor of straw, sweet bread, honey, and grass. Light-bodied, with medium-high carbonation and a clean, crisp mouthfeel. Nice, light summer beer.

Clean, straightforward, well-done, kolsch style? Excellent after a long, hot drive to get here.

TAP: this beer has a classic lager look and okay lacing. Almost no aroma. The taste is lemon and bready. It is extremely light and easy to drink.

I received a 12oz bottle from a friend in Ohio (thanks, James!). I poured it into the tumbler he sent me.

Appearance: White gold hue that’s nearly opaque, but some carbonation is visible. Forms just a coating of white suds which disappear quickly and leave no lacing.

Smell: Classic lager aroma scent, but with subtle notes of lemonpeel and just a hint of spice.

Taste: This beer threw me for a loop. It looks like a witbier and has some of the same aroma characteristics, but also has the classic lager smell and taste. Columbus Brewing Summer Teeth Lager is technically a kellerbier - a niche style lager that’s either bottle-conditioned or unfiltered judging from the goop in the bottle. Anyway, the beer itself is definitely tastier than your average lager but not as much as an actual witbier or highly-hopped helles bock.

It’s mild in many aspects. Up front is a light, somewhat citrusy lemonpeel and allspice taste, followed by classic lager flavor but without the unbridled graininess. There’s a hint of sweetness in the finish, but it’s washed away clean. There are a lot of subtle flavors to this brew and had they been accentuated it would’ve been a solid, if not great lager. There’s nothing off-putting about it whatsoever, but to me it’s only an okay brew in the end.

Drinkability: Summer themed beers tend to be my least favorites because they opt for drinkability over taste and Columbus Brewing Summer Teeth Lager is a good example of that. I specifically drank it on an unusually hot spring day to replicate the summer feeling. It was crisp and refreshing and the clean finish probably accounted for a lot of that. It went down smooth and at only 5% ABV I could definitely see myself throwing back a few of these at a summer BBQ or picnic.
