2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 BMan1113VR (7420) - Los Angeles, California, USA - JAN 15, 2009Bottle thanks to BeerVirgin72. Thank god I opened this chilled, as it was a slow gusher, and first pour was all foam... Head continued to rise for several minutes just sitting in my glass...Weird. As said, the head was huge, and creamy, just slightly off-white. Good lacing. Underneath is a hazy but effervescent body that is a deep orange hue. Aroma is sweet with berries, hops and cinnamon. Taste is odd and metallic with some fruit and harsh grainy malt. Not balanced. Notes of ginger that burn a little. Very fizzy and dry.

Bottle pour amber. Nose really interesting with candied ginger, spice, pepper, rosemary, and brown sugar. Taste a lot of the same flavors with additional sugar cookie and cinnamon. Bitter finish. Not my typical kind of beer, but interesting mix of big flavors.

12oz bottle from George. Rating #49. Cloudy dark amber pour with a beige head. Light spice with a good amount of hops in the aroma. More hops in the flavor with a little ginger in the finish, not bad. (2721)
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 superspak (1536) - Michigan, USA - APR 11, 2013
12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 10/31/2012. Pours hazy and cloudy reddish orange color with a 1 finger foamy off white head with decent retention, that reduces to a minimal ring of lace. No glass lacing, and some moderate streaming carbonation. Aromas of caramel, brown sugar, apple, cinnamon, gingerbread, and light floral. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of malt and spices notes; with moderate strength. Taste of caramel, apple, brown sugar, cinnamon, toast, gingerbread, clove, pepper, and light floral. Lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, apple, cinnamon, toast, gingerbread, and clove on the finish for a bit. Nice balance and robustness of malt and spice flavor; with a solid malt/spice balance and a fair amount of cloying sweetness/spice flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy and slick mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a solid winter warmer. Good robustness and solid balance of flavors; and very smooth to drink. An enjoyable offering.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 markwise (3833) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - JAN 26, 2013
Thanks to goryshkewych for this one. Cheers, George. Pours a nice sunset orange yellow-color with an off-white head. Nose is malty, like an IPA, with sugar plums, and some orange peel, cinnamon, and a piney hoppiness. Flavor is an IPA meets a sugar plum Christmas beer. I get lots of sweet fruity notes with the malt and hops of an IPA/ or at least a more bitter beer. Light to medium in body and not really melding well.
1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20 Elwood (2552) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - JAN 13, 2013
Serving: 12 oz. bottle via trade from Cliff. Thanks Cliff! It pours a murky brown with a short lived tan head. The nose has notes of plastic and apple juice. The flavor has heavy plastic, fusels, and pine. This one is not good at all. Medium body with average carbonation. Burnt rubber and plastic. Blech.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 nuplastikk (3353) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 11, 2012
12oz bottle scooped up in Columbus. Unfiltered orange-amber. Thin head, fades to an oily brim. Rather pleasant herbal tinged malty aroma, touch of cinnamon, amber malt. Kind of an odd one, very fruitcake. The ginger is certainly there, not bitter, but fruity. Not really one to recommend, but a decent enough beer.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Huhzubendah (2006) - Washington DC, USA - DEC 7, 2012
Bottle shared by ygtbsm94. Thanks Brad.
The beer is hazy orange with a small, off white head. The aroma offers cinnamon, apples - smells like apple cobbler/pie. The flavor is heavily spiced, with cinnamon leading the way. Lacking balance. Best in small quantities. Like drinking sweet apple pie. Thin bodied with adequate carbonation. Overall, tasty but one dimensional. Worth a try.

Bottle courtesy of Luke, this could be hit or miss for most people, if you love gingerbread and cinnamon with beer you’ll probably love this, sweet beer lovers this is good for you too, those looked for muted spice behind the scenes, not so much I thought it worked well
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 mcnealc31 (223) - Elida, Ohio, USA - JAN 8, 2012
The color of Columbus Brewing Winter Warmer is rather attractive. A rich caramel hue. But the aroma is what really draws you in. Loads of ginger and cinnamon. The white head thins out rapidly, but it sticks around all the way through with fantastic lacing.
Ginger and caramel are the biggest flavors here. The cinnamon adds just a late heat followed by a bite from the hops. Tastes a bit like a graham cracker, too.
Maybe not the top tier of winter beers, but I would have no problem doing this again
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Panzuriel (1190) - Westerville, Ohio, USA - DEC 16, 2011
Beer appears as a dull rust colored murky liquid with a sparse head of medium to tiny off white bubbles. Nose is nutmeg and less evident christmas type spices over medium malt and faint hop aromas of resin. Taste is initially dry with pine resin hops and medium malt through the middle. very restrained spice presence. very fizzy/tingly on the mouthfeel. finishes warmly with flavors developing and broadening.
