COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer was born from two passions: brewing beer and brewing coffee. With the expertise of our nearby coffee gurus at Ascension Coffee House, we’ve infused a mighty coffee character in this special seasonal beer. The base beer began as a high gravity dark lager style, called Baltic Porter, with a rich and roasty malty character. We then infused expertly brewed, cold-steeped coffee into the fermented and finished beer, giving the immense aroma and flavor of Sumatra coffee beans. If you like coffee and craft beer, this special lager is right up your alley!

Dark brown body with a quarter inch of filmy beige head. The expected roast and coffee character in both the nose and flavor. Simple and straightforward. A bit light in body. Could be bolder and more assertive.

Bottle from Bearded Monk, dated 11/12/15. Pours a very dark brown with a foamy brown head. The aroma is sweet malt with a hint of coffee. The coffee really shows up in the flavor but you can also taste the base Baltic Porter. Nice.

one of my favorite styles and favorite brewers - growler from caps and taps. Aroma has a strong coffee/earth/slight barnyard - love it! dark pour with zero head; good palate - easy drinker; lacking some on flavor - I get some coffee but not much else.....better as it warms

Really rich coffee aroma. Big tan head on a black body. The balance of bitter and sweet leans to bitter a bit much. Nice malt complexity. Good drinker.

Dark pour, slight tan head. Nose is coffee and dark roasted grain. Bittersweet. Middle is treacle, coffee grinds, charred malt. Finish is still bittersweet, light bodied for the style.

On tap at The Common Table. Pours black with a thin brown head. The aromas are chocolate, roasted coffee. The mother is slightly watery and bitter with a heavy body and medium carbonation. Cheers!

TCBF. Pours a dark opaque brown with a shallow ring head. Nose is smoke, coffee, chocolate, and vanilla. More vanilla and chocolate on the tongue, along with some dark fruit and cola notes; the vanilla is restrained, which is nice. (I sometimes mistrust vanilla in beers, since it can be used to hide a myriad of sins.) Really smooth and elegant on the finish. This is a lovely, not overwhelming coffee porter.

(Draught) Pours a dark brown (near black) with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, and lactose. Flavor of coffee, roasted malt, vanilla, and some chocolate.
