Bottle at CGBD. Pours black with a light brown head. Medium roasted malts, hints of whiskey, coffee, and some light dark chocolate sweetness. Rich and delicious. Damn good.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Sampled this at Campground Brewdown 2. Pours a deep black to brown with a thin beige head. Sweet roast and chocolate on the nose, light spicy barrel notes of wood and vanilla. Soft cocoa, chocolate, sweet chocolate and roast. Cocoa, more sweet chocolate into some thick chewy brownies, dries out into light wood. Very tasty.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
2013-04-20. Black body nice tan head and lace. 4+ Rich stout base in the flavour, mild roast, cocoa, moderate whiskey throughout. Sweet vanilla comes out as it warms up. 7++ Dusty cocoa malt aroma, moderate barrel and whiskey character. 7+ Smooth medium to full body. 4+ Barrel aging is obviously present without being over the top. The richness of the base beer supports everything nicely. The alcoholic is present but surprisingly mild. The second glass was delicious but perhaps less of a good idea than it seemed at the time, lol. Really nice stuff. Happy Anniversary CBW! On tap at Goodbar, Buffalo

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Mr. Goodbar. Made a special trip out just to try this one (wish I could try some more, but I had to drive). A little boozy, very heavy on the vanilla and rye flavors....surprisingly boozy with only 8.8% ABV. Wonder if this is actually a bit stronger. Smooth though, and certainly drinkable.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: APR 21, 2013 Happy 1st birthday community beer works! On tap at Mr goodbar. Pours a black with a thin light brown head. Aroma is hard to catch in the bar, but lots of roasted malts. Tastes real sweet up front, chocolate, a little syrupy, LOTS of rye coming from the whisky. More chocolate syrup and vanilla. A quick bitter finish. Nice beer.
