Formerly our newest beer, De Maas balances a fruity and floral Belgian yeast character with caramel and toasty maltiness and a firm bitterness.

another long line ventured for this at the Buffalo Brew Fest. Pale amber hue with a white head. Great retention. Taste has plenty of herb and pepper spice, good full body. Very drinkable and on I will surely look for again in a full pint.

On tap at the Brewery during Brew Tour ’13’ Buffalo. Pours a clear tinged brown with a thin white head. Malty and sweet, soft wood and toast. Sweet, toasty. Malt and a good amount of sweetness and toast. Soft caramel and toast. Good time here. Enjoyed the brew tour and talking to the owner.

A: Amber Hue, Passes Some Light, White Head Ring, Mild Lacing S: Sweet Malts, Belgian Yeast T: Belgian Yeast, Semi Sweet Malts M: Average Carbonation, Medium Bodied, Yeasty, Mildly Sweet Overall, the yeast is very overpowering in this beer and not much complexity beyond that. FYI....Its a Belgian Amber Ale...not a Belgian Pale Ale...chalk that up to another NorthYorkSammy verbal botch.

A cloudy amber-brown with a white head. Some hops and barley on the nose with some complexity and depth on the tongue. Simple clean drink.

Pours cloudy with a nice head. Floral aroma. Floral taste of a Belgian ale. Nothing spcial but a solid Belgian, good to sit and drink.

1L growler shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jerc & mabel -- c/o j&m. Pours a cloudy copper-gold with a small fizzy off-white head. Aroma is a bit papery and vegetal along with some sugary sweetness and yeast. Flavour is yeasty first followed by malt and a bit of fruit. Average bodied. I didn’t much care for this one.

UPDATED: FEB 21, 2013 2013-02-02. Much cleaner and and less grainy than last time. +1 On tap at the brewery

2012-12-17. Lightly hazy dark amber body, small beige head. 3+ Dry malty aroma, interesting yeasty quality has a Quebecois quality to it. 6+ Flavour is similar, dry malty quality, hints at caramel, lingering, slightly odd malt character. 6+ Average bodied palate. Okay, yeast/malt combination is a bit strange, and it is just a bit more dry overall than my preference. Growler from the Brewery, Buffalo

One litre swing-top growler courtesy of J&M shared with me, blankboy and gregclow. Hazy rubyish amber, decent off-white head (4-). Aroma - hmmm, not too sure ...a little sweaty, floral, dry oddly sour yeast. Taste - a little celery, vaguely sweet malt, not much alcohol ...ehhhh. Light body, mildly carbonated, finishes quick ... don’t quite know what to make of this. Not BAD ... but ....

Tap, pours a light yellow, aroma is a bit spicy and yeast and the flavour is so as well, a bit of citrus quality, quite drinkable, decent offering
