[Bottle (12oz)] Pours a very dark brown, almost black, with an average size lasting frothy tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, leafy hops, molasses and some chocolate. Flavour of roasted malt, chocolate, leafy hops and a bit of coffee. Roasty bitter finish. Alcohol is well hidden. Medium to full bodied, almost creamy mouthfeel. Great stuff!

On tap at Mr. Goodbar for the CBW 2nd birthday party. I’d had the barrel-aged Snow last year, but never the unbarreled version. Hate to say it, but I think I prefer the barrel-aged one. Nice and sweet, roasty, chocolate. Doesn’t feel as boozy as it could’ve, so that was nice.

UPDATED: AUG 25, 2015 2015-08-21. Black body with a modest beige head that fades. 3++ Aroma of dark malt, good amount roast, not quite Hershey syrup like chocolate touches. Light green hop notes. 7+ Flavour is fairly bitter, moderate roast and green hop bitterness throughout. Average plus to medium bodied palate, moderate carbonation. Much hoppier than I remember. Nice stuff. 7/3/8/4/16-17 2015 Vintage bottle courtesy of rudolf.

2013-08-17. Black body with tan head. 3++ Aroma of rich dark malt and accents of light roast and tangy dark malt. Flavour of dark malt, rich sweet malt core and modest roast and caramel accents. Medium to full bodied palate, soft carbonation. 3++ 7/4/7/4/16+ Bottle at Campground Brewdown.
Overheard:"I hear you’re the cornhole champ."

2012-08-18. Black body with a small tan head and syrupy legs. 3+ Tangy roasty aroma, dark malt is dry and roastier(?) than expected 7+ Flavour has an earthy mushroomy quality to it, dry roast malt, and dark malt core. Decent, a bit old or perhaps poorly timed on my part? Not sure which. Smooth average plus bodied palate. Decent. Pre-commercial version Bottle, Campground Brewdown 2012

Growler at CGBD. Pours black with a brown head. Medium roasted malt and coffee, light chocolate sweetness, and some lingering floral hoppy bitterness. Good stuff.

Sampled this at Campground Brewdown 2. Pours a deep hazed brown to black with a thin tan head. Roast, chocolate, cocoa on the nose. Chocolate and cocoa, warm roast. Light earthy brownies. Chewy brownies again, cocoa and chocolate into the finish.
