COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The quest to create Community Beer Company led us to evaluate many locations around Dallas for nearly two years before selecting our home on Inspiration Drive, near downtown on Stemmons Freeway. What a street name for our dream brewery to be built!! Without inspiration, we wouldn’t be here to enrich our local community with world-class craft beer. In honor of all things inspirational, we offer this very special Belgian Style Dark Strong Ale. The deep ruby hue of this ale comes from the use of several English and Belgian crystal malts as well as a touch of roasted malt. The rich malt character is balanced by a high ABV, a blend of highly attenuative and expressive Belgian yeast strains, and just the right amount of hops.

It’s deep amber iced tea brown with ample, sustained tan foam. Aromas os some booze, raisin, danish. It’s nice and malty with just a touch of fruit, toasty bitterness and hoppy twang, nice Belgian yeast. Full flavored with medium mouthfeel and creamy carb. Really yummy with well hidden alcohol.

Bottle:   Very deep amber, getting into brown territory, moderate to large foamy beige head, fairly nice lacing.   Has that distinct Belgian musty dark pitted fruit/bready nose.   Wow, had I smelled this blind I would say Belgian made and not American.   Very much Belgian like on the tongue.   Slight touch of alcohol, musty, has that sweet dark pitted fruit and rich breadiness on the tongue.   This is great!   Moderate to full body and mouthfeel.   Clean finish.   This really came across as a really good Belgian style Dark Ale.   Wow!   Thanks Bill!

750 ml. capped and waxed bottle. Pours a thick, gradually collapsing ivory head, with extensive Belgian Lacing over a slightly hazy amber brown (SRM 18) body.....nose is dried fruits, light spice, minimal hops......taste is slightly sweet to start, with brown sugar, dried fruits including fig, plum raisin, very light spice (allspice), hints of pepper, leading to a mildly sweet spicy (think spice cake) finish....mouth feel light of medium, slightly sticky, mild alcohol warmth, carbonation adds tingle, and cuts the sweetness with light acid. This is a pleasant beer with moderate complexity in both aromas and flavors. It is, unfortunately, for a Belgian Dark Strong Ale, a bit simple overall. It needs great depth from the malts, a different yeast, and perhaps a change of hops. It was technically well done, but needs a new ingredient list. BJCP 7/3/12/5/6
