Community Beer Company’s deference to classic, old world European lagers manifests as our year round offering Community Lager. A true lager, this beer takes about five to six weeks to make from the day we mill the malt to finished, sparkling clear beer. This all malt, Vienna-style lager begins with our own crystal clear water – run through our state of the art filtration system – which is treated to mimic the waters of Bavaria, before being mashed with the finest malts from one of the oldest German maltsters. Using traditional techniques, we craft this lager’s wort in our four vessel brewhouse, transferring it to our fermenters to settle in for the long haul that all true lagers must undergo. Our European lager strain ferments very cold and slow, leaving a crisp, clean, highly quaffable, light copper colored beer. While most of our beers are unfiltered, we feel it is vitally important to filter this delicate beer, allowing the drinker to appreciate the clean, subtle complexities of a truly world-class lager.

On tap @ the brewery. Deep golden brew with some fluffy white head. Nose is bready and caramel malts - flavor of sweet grains and more malt. Crisp and refined, very easy drinking. I’m not usually a fan of vienna lagers but this has some great flavor.

The style is not my favorite so I try to look for the positives. Faint grainy aroma. Copper color but lighter. Good white head with decent lacing. Medium weight to light with good carbonation. Above average flavor with malt being predominant with a clean finish. Quaffable and easy with most foods.

Amber brew that smells of a molded loaf of bread. So right off not enjoying the smell. Taste was better since it didn’t taste like moldy bread. Still a breadish taste with a bit of caramel. As with most lagers it is thin and watery. Not the best lager I have had but still far from the worst. Drank the whole six pack! This is one of many beers found during my trip to Fort Worth.

Hazy deep Amber with a fluffy white head. The aroma has time toasted English muffin and some leafy noble hops. Good biscuit flavor with caramelized wheat toast and a noble grassy earthy undertone. Lagery caramel biscuit finish.

Pours a nice deep amber almost copperish color with off-white head. Caramel malts, a hint of citrus, and some biscuit on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with malt.

Pours clear copper with a small beige head. Smells malty, hints of caramel. Taste is caramel sweetness with bitterness on the back end. Light-bodied with a wet texture and average mouth-carbonation, Community Vienna Lager finishes with a lingering lager crispness.

UPDATED: OCT 12, 2014 10/14 re-rate; not sure I enjoyed as much - no rating change; will try more.............................................. had low expectations and will now be purchasing a six pack for the summer. very much enjoyed this brew - malt, bread and a freshness for lack of better word in aroma. taste was crisp, malty and PERFECT amount of bitter hops to balance - probably what a pale ale was before everyone went hop crazy. bottle.

Crisp amber with an off white head. Nose is rich malts, dough, bread, sweet, and caramel. Smooth palate, caramel, faint roast, clean, bitter, and an easy finish.

Tap at the brewery - clear straw color - aroma of toasty and bready malts, a bit Munich richness, lightly grassy hops - flavor is mostly clean, round carbonation in the mouth - fairly rich malts, followed by toasty notes, tempered by a peppery and grass hop bite on the end - the finish is slightly unclean, but otherwise a pretty solid offering.
