COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottled, Pasteurised, Regular;
Have you ever wanted to make your own beer but don’t like the idea of messing around in the kitchen with a homebrew kit? Or maybe you would like your own beer for your wedding or social club? These dads had, and together we created Fathers’ Folly. During a number of pub meetings we decided on a beer style and flavour profile, Compass Brewery then brewed the beer in a profesional micro brewery. The group then went on a tour of the brewery and sampled some Fathers’ Folly straight from the vat. There were then more pub meetings where the name was decided and the labeled designed.

500ml bottle from Bacchanalia, Cambridge. Amber with a thick cream head; typical jammy aroma of an over pasteurised beer; hoppy, bitter flavour from the start with a slightly metallic feel to the body; good earthy hops to finish, but leaving a sticky and unsatisfying finish. Good in parts.

Bottled, 500ml, pasteurised, bought in The Lamb & Flag, Oxford who seem to be stocking the Compass range. Amber with white head. Light, thinnish bitter, a little over carbonated and pasteurised giving it quite a tinny note. Otherwise reasonable, some caramel in the malt and an earthy hop. it’s ok.
