COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This bottle conditioned cloudy wheat beer brewed with fresh ginger and hand squeezed fresh lemons will be able to cool you down this summer. Nose: Ginger and lemon. Palate: Fruity ginger with a blend of zesty lemons and some hops to give it a bitter tang. Food pairing: Symposium is great to drink with fragrant Indian dishes as well as BBQ chicken. Symposium takes it name from the ancient Greek for ‘to drink together’, which is exactly what how this thirst-quenching tipple should be enjoyed.

Bottled. A light gold coloured beer with a white head. Heavily carbonated. Ginger in the nose but less so in the mouth where it’s a bit flowery and vomity. Over sweet but then ginger shows from time to time. I don’t think the ginger, wheat and sweetness work and I struggled with this.

Bottle at Fin & Loz’s tasting with Jan, Charlotte, Craig, Stella & kids consumed 21.10.11 Purchased at Millets Farm Shop, Frilford Heath, Nr Abingdon, Oxon summer 2011 Pours mid gold with a light bubbling for a head. Refreshing beer with a subtle rather than an ’in yer face’ gingeryness, tasting more like a little powdery ginger. Wheatiness is also apparent, some lemons, its ok but not really my thing I’m afraid. Bottled, 500ml from Banbury Food Market. Hazy orange gold with no head. Sharp, quite acidic flavour, not immediately identifiable as ginger, but certainly there is a citric acid note. Not a favourite combination for me but it has some quality.

A - Mandarin Orange, ginger, citrus, lemon peel A - Hazy pale. Bubbly with a quickly dissipating thin head. T - Tastes exactly as it smells. Lots of Ginger, citrus fruit, with a crisp, clean, thin, and bitter but refreshing finish. Good picnic or barbecue beer for a warm summers day.
