Significant grape aroma...smells like fruit roll-up with some hints of caramel malts as well. Clear amber color with a very quickly dissipating head disappearing into nothing. Pretty, but no head. This guy has a significant amount of grapes..more sour than sweet to start, but this turns into a nice caramel/roasty malty finish. Not cloying at all and not overdone. A nice mix, but a tad thin. A nice fruit beer. Give me some carbonation, and a bit more body, and you have a premier fruit beer.

UPDATED: JAN 7, 2004 In bottle: Loses a point or two in a bottle. Flavor tastes a little more artificial, but yet it tastes good. Cold it is pretty dry and beats thirst better than most IPAs, warm I think it tastes better. On tap Boston Beer Summit '02: Deep grape aroma, fizzy palate, amber color, ends a little sweet. I'm by no means a fan of fruity beer, but this was really good. Tastes a little of grapes and comes across bold and very fresh.

Clear deep copper color, the head is ’Voluminous’, the lace in thick sheets, had to let it rest a bit to get to the beer. Nose is as promised, ’Grapes’, fresh and sweet, hints of malt. Front is sweet, the top light, the finish is dry, mildly hopped, and the grape carries on to the aftertaste. Not a bad ’Fruit beer’, better than most of them I’ve tasted. Ranks #712 on my current 1000 beer master list. Thanks Volgon

Amber-orangeish color, thick foamy white head, candyish grape aroma, follows through on a medium-bodied palate, with cool-aid grape flavor, with hint of bitterness, caramel malt in a hop bittering finish.

Solid burgundy color, with full, fine off-white head. Aromatics are incredible and spill out of the bottle, but, though bursting, it’s bursting with only one flavor: concord grapes, of course. Comes off like a grape pop, really, or like a thawed out grape slushee. Light/medium body, nice texture, fine hop attendance, and sturdy malt. A well-made ale, full of grapey flavor. I could only have one at a time, though, not for session drinking. A fine novelty beer, and one the fine folks of Massachusetts can be proud of. Some tartness at the end, but doesn’t diminish the experience.

Bottle, from Julio’s. OK nose, Grape(duh) like welchs grape jelly. Couple other scents that come through, I thought Yeasty/bready, whole wheat, sulphury. Nice classic copper color, little head that faded quickly. Bittersweet flavors, lite though, viney, unsweetened grape juice, wheat. Thinner body, liite watery mouthfeel, dry bittersweet finish. Kinda odd. The grape comes through dry and unsweetened. Lizabeths Schwepps analogy is a good one. Not one I’d drink a bunch of.

On tap at the Connecticut Brew Fest. Amber with a slight white head. Nose is all Nehi grape soda! Good flavor, red grape at first, then a nice malty grainy flavor. Decent bitter finish. Good!

Draft at VT Brewers Fest - Light yellow in color with a small white head. Aroma is definitely of grapes (Welche’s) with some hops as well. Surprisingly bitter flavor with the grapes again showing through. Unusual ber, but not terrible and not something that I would seek out ... plenty of other good beers out there.
