[Cask at GBBF 2004] An amber beer with no head. The aroma is primarily of caramel, but also contains note of hops. The flavor is powerful of alcohol and grass, but inspite of the alcohol presensce the mouthfeel is thin.

Clear amber with medium off-white head. Aroma is floral, toasty, some orange. Orange hoppiness dominates the light-medium sweet flavor, followed by floral and some maltiness. Light astringency in the moderately orange/floral hoppy finish. Medium body. Nothing special, but a perfectly fine session beer.

12oz bottle-pours a foamy white head and gold color. Aroma is sweet malt. Taste is sweet malt balanced with medium hops. Maltier than a standard pale ale. OK carbonation. Good session beer.

Cask@GBBF04’. Caramelly malts, light aromatic hops in the finish, with a flavour of grapes, enjoyable.

12 oz bottle. Clear bubbly medium amber, giant frothy diminishing head...caramel, sharp orange, Sprite in the nose...fairly dull and cardboardy on the tongue, bit of a bite and fairly full, but...forget it.

2004 bottle. Looks the part of an APA with a modest white head. Aroma of caramel malt, sugary oranges and light hops. Flavor is bursting with fresh hops, with plenty of citrus appeal but has a good clean malt backbone. Much different than their IPA and for good reason, as this is a hoppy, bitter APA. I like cascades and I think they do well with a good malt body, so I enjoyed this one. Simple, but well-made. Medium body, light carbonation. Little to no thinning.

UPDATED: FEB 27, 2007 Rerate 1/2/04: Clear dark yellow (with some orange) with a thin white head. Biscuit aroma, grainy taste. On tap Boston Beer Summit ’02: Nice orange color, watery palate. Ends slightly bitter. Not a bad pale ale.

Color is a clear golden shade, head is large fluffy white. Aroma plays it very quietly, with barely a trace of citrus peeking through. On the palate, smooth and tasty, but dominated by a sharp, overpowering citric element. Body is far too thin, malt is largely MIA in this one and I practically screamed for more balance. Oddly, their IPA had more body and balance.

Holy $hit, BIG carbonation. Great big head of very large bubbles with tons of carbonation. Head settles slowly to a nice rocky foam. Color is a light golden orange. Nice resinous hops aroma. Little floral, little citrus. Light bread malts also. Flavor is initially, slightly metallic, then mellows out to a nice bitter brew. Little dry. Thin malts. Finish has a nice lingering bitterness. A decent finish to a ok brew.
