JorisPPattyn (4494), Antwerpen, Belgium Nov 6, 2002 Superbly hoppy beer, notably noble hops. Little hints, both on aroma and taste, of blueberry (pie), rest typically pine and cedar, fading to resiny residue. Great! cfranz (261), Acton, Massachusetts, USA Mar 11, 2005 Again, at the Concord Brewery Night at the 99 in West Concord. This one packs a nice wallop - and is extremely smooth. Red and sweet - nice aftertaste. If I was about to face the electric chair and I had to picka last beer it would be atossup between this and Dogfish head’s 120 minute IPA. goz (359), Chelmsford, Massachusetts, USA Dec 17, 2002 Updated: Apr 27, 2003Brewtrak 3437 : Pour is a slightly hazy medium amber, with a large light tan head, slowly diminishing to leave good lacing. Aroma is floral, grassy, earthy, herbal. Flavor starts sweet (caramel mostly), some slight sourness in the middle, and ends with tons of tasty hops. Full body, dry ending. Seemed similar to the 3434 I tried before, but poured with much more head, and seemed to be more refined in it's flavors.
Brewtrack 3434 : Golden/amber color, minimal head and lacing. Aroma is nice and hoppy - pine, citrus, grass, light malty sweetness in the background. Starts with a little malt (lightly caramel), then the hops come crushing through, sticking around on the palate for a long tasty finish. jah noth (940), Rochester, New York, USA Mar 5, 2004 First off, I really like this beer. It pours with a gargantuan fluffy white head. The aroma is mildly sweet, but faint. Amber in color, but very dense and murky, some floaties. Crisp, fruity and floral hop flavor balanced with a belgian-yeast, bready quality. This beer sort of transcends classification, but could be considered a Belgian double? Many thanks to yankeeheel (BA) for the sample. Viva La Villa Strangiato. Hopistotle420 (1177), Amherst, Massachusetts, USA Sep 8, 2002 Updated: Apr 7, 2003Draught NoHO Brewery: I must say, this beer is excellent. Bottled version is very nice as well. Awesome spiciness, peppery, great yeasty twang. Citrus, grapefruit, piney, resinous. A belgian/american IPA hybrid. I love it...GET yourself a Blessing!
On draft at Brew Fest in Holyoke, MA. Golden-amber-orange hue. Nice hoppy aroma. Some vinous notes. Excellant hoppiness and bitterness. Sweet, bready finsh. Raison and cookie hints. A lovely brew, worth revisiting.
