Hinckley 08. Drinks like a pasteurised buttery caramelised supermarket bitter. But a good one. Waft of sweaty citrus, Edam (?), resiny hop, lemon and lime. Hops muted by butter and almond but some citrussy goodness poking through. Dip of Saazy pencil, not enough Cascade. Needs work, but OK

Handpull at Bell and Bear, Emberton. Would be perfect outside in the sun, otherwise a very easy drinking golden ale. Great expression of English hops IMO.

Cask conditioned handpump Queen Adelaide Northampton A golden beer with a white head. There is some caramel and diacetyl in the nose. A nice balanced feel of hops and caramel with a decent body.

Bottle that I picked up from Wye Valley garden centre, Bicester, Oxon, 19-04-09 and consumed the same day. Pours warm gold with a white slim head, there is some tiny yeast particles in suspension that create a slight haze, these weren’t there on my first pour so I can only assume that pouring became less careful. The nose is a little citric as is the flavour, but there is a gentle honey sweetness that keeps things in check. Nice beer. A6 A3 F7 P4 Ov14 3.4

Cask at ’Spoons, Milton Keynes. Gold with a white head. Citric aroma (’zesty’ it says on the pumpclip). Yet another slightly soapy golden with a little bitterness. Easy drinking and dull.
