Head was quite uncontrollably large from the bottle. Fat buttery malts on the nose. Buttery with hints of hops and some light chocolate flavours. Not very nice really, unbalanced and too fizzy. Maybe my bottle was a little old.

Cask conditioned Handpump Malt Shovel Northampton. A more copper than gold coloured beer with an off-white head and lace. A sweetish beer with English hops and toffee flavours. Crystal malt. A decent body but dull and too sweet.

Seems a lot of these ratings are from the bottle. Had this on cask, 3 times in the last 2 weeks. Hazy golden, typical looking cask head on this one, decent lacing on the glass. Don’t get much aroma on it honestly, but it tastes nice enough. Grassy, with some light citrus hints too. Would gladly order this anywhere I saw it on cask. Better mouthfeel and texture than was expected too.

[bottle @ RBESG 2009, Grand Tasting] Sugary aroma with biscuits. Hazy gold appearance. Thin beer tasting like dishrags with a boiled leather note. Unpleasant feel, mouth puckering.

Grand Tasting @ The Harlequin, Sheffield.
Pours hazy golden with a big, frothy, white head. Aroma has butter, peanuts and hazel. Low carbonation, flat mouthfeel. Flavour is dusty, some peanuts and hazelnuts. Weird, and not really good.
