dmtroyer (409), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 22, 2008 22oz. Overall very surprised this is a lager. Body poured like a belgian wit, hazy light orange with a white head. Nose was intensely spicy with some tropical fruit added in for good measure. Body followed suit with a fair bit of sweetness, but still well lifted and light. I could almost swear there is a bit of sage or rosemary happening here. All that said, it was borderline over the top and edging on artificial, definitely has some balance issues... blue moon lovers would probably be at home here. Beershine (2678), Hue, Vietnam Aug 20, 2008 Hazy honey color with nice white head that is fizzy and vanishes fast. Sweet, floral, like herbal tea. Fizzy mouthfeel. Thin. Quite bland, mild and very tea-like. Unique, refreshing but not at all satisfying. mephisto (1144), Taiwan Aug 18, 2008 hazy light yellow colored with a thin layer of white top, it has slight foral aroma with spice accent. the flaovr is floral mixed with herb bitterness. rajendra82 (698), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA Aug 18, 2008 Very pale colored pour, which went along perfectly with the albino python shown on the label. The carbonation was huge, and the head very large as a result. The smell was that of banana and lavender. The taste was fluffy, and a bit too much like flower petals. The carbonation was quite active, and made the beer feel like cotton candy in the mouth. There was not much to this little beer. Next time they should try to get a giant python and not a pygmy one. thornecb (1736), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA Aug 17, 2008 Pours hazy gold into a shaker. No head whatsoever. Mild spice aromas. Crisp, smooth and full with coriander and citrus. Similar to an imperial wit. nearbeer (1833), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Aug 16, 2008 Updated: Jan 15, 2009650 ml. Slight fog on the pale golden brew with a small, sudsy and lasting head. Spicy evergreen, peppery orange zest and honey aroma. Tastes of lemon-honey, some peppery ginger, and rosemary/spruce resin. Light-bodied, way too frothy with carbonation, and a spicy-dry finish. The spices are nicely done; tastes similar to the Weihenstephaner Grut Bier, but not so over-the-top with the evergreen-herbal flavors. If this one weren’t so fizzy it would get a couple more tenths on points. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Aug 15, 2008 Bomber. Hazy straw yellow with a big white head. Good carbonation. Orange and light coriander nose, some dust. Dry citrus zest flavors, coriander and a shade of dough. Light body, bouncy carbonation. Decent drinkability, somewhat overdone on the spicing, but not bad. vyvvy (2023), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA Aug 14, 2008 Pours hazy yellow / blond with a foamy white head. The aroma has coriander, lemon zest, fennel, clean light malt and a touch of hops - very clean. Medium / light body that is grainy and crisp and has a lot of sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with various spices, pale malt, citrus, creaminess and is quite thick on the flavor. The finish has a lot of fennel and spicy hops. This looks, smells and taste more like an ale than a lager. An enjoyable brew from the Coney Island lineup.
