Poured a cloudy yellow with a semi-lasting head. The nose was freshly zested lemon, coriander, crackery pilsner malt, and floor cleaner. Upon first sipping it I thought we were drinking lemon Pledge, but as my palate became acclimated to it the appeal started to grow on me. The flavor was clean and lemony with slight bitterness, not unlike lemon meringue pie. Very crisp and refreshing on a hot balmy night. Not sure I ever need to have this one again but it was an experience I won’t soon forget. deyholla (678), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 28, 2009 Tap at Sheffields. Poured a cloudy gold with an off-white head. Aroma was a bit underwhelming but notes of hops, flower, fruits and malts present. Flavor began a bit fruity and then built to a malty finish. Hops were underlying throughout but lacked the bitterness, alexanderj (2244), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 20, 2009 Bottle. Poured a cloudy amber-gold with a small to average white head. Aroma of must, bread, with a huge dose of spice and pepper. Not a big fan of the aroma, but it was ok I guess. Flavor did not work for me either; just too much spice with not much else to provide a balance. A bit medicinal. Didn’t come close to finishing this one, but at least I can move on to something else. sleestak (186), Williamston, Michigan, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 17, 2009 Bomber emblazoned with a creepy-ass dude, a goth seductress and one phallic-as-hell snake. Hazy yellow with a subdued head. Aroma is extremely spicy with licorice dominating, maybe some soft citrus in the background. Flavor is all about the spice, with an almost minty character at the forefront. The adjunct spice overpowers the typical clove esters of a white. Refreshing mouthfeel, and a nice change of pace, but a little too unbalanced. BiddleBrau (323), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jun 13, 2009 Milky hazy yellow color and a thin head. Spicy; licorice/fennel/pepper aroma. Aroma is stronger than the flavor but that licorice/pepper is still there in the taste. A hit of a wit taste but too much of that spice to make something I’d order again although the lable is very cool and typical of the Coney Island era posters promoting side shows. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 8, 2009 This is my first in the Coney Island series, which is appropriate because I was there the other day. Another nice label by Shmaltz. Cloudy butterscotch pour and a festive, tangy aroma. Malty and well hopped for a witte. Flavor of wheat, coriander, clove, and hops. A nice brew, and pretty robust for the style. I like the weirdly grinning Coney Island bottle cap too. phishpond417 (1935), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 5, 2009 Just picked this up at Riley’s- $2.99 for a bomber. I guess they are from last year, but i sampled it today during lunch and it was pretty good. Poured a bright cloudy golden colour with a big fluffy white head. Taste is pretty creamy, but it tapers off near the end. noticeable yeasty notes alogn with something like coriander on the nose. Taste is fruity with some spices again, maybe nutmeg? Anyway, nice deal on a beer and it wasn’t half bad! obguthr (1015), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Jun 4, 2009 Bomber marked down to $2! Peach and clove aroma. Shimmering golden pour with a medium fizzy head that quickly disappears. Very strong flavor of cloves, light coriander at midpalate, and a minty finish. Perfumey and bitter throughout. Quite unique and gets points for originality.Tastes like a wibier and an apa mixed. The adjuncts make it a smidge too spicy.
