3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from a bottle (release #7) into a snifter glass.
Aroma- Bourbon, oak/wood, caramel, and toffee.
Appearance- A brown-orange almost copper like look. Has good carbonation and some lacing at the top of glass.
Taste- Upfront whiskey taste followed by brown sugar, dark fruits, and some sweetness.
Palate- Warm mouth fell with the upfront bourbon/whiskey taste. Medium body with a malty sweet finish.
Overall- A good sipping beer. It tasted more like a barley wine than a bock the way it was brewed.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours reddish brown with a frothy tan head that left sticky lacing. Aroma of bourbon, caramel, toffee, vanilla and oak. Flavor was quite sweet and complex with oaky bourbon, caramel/toffee, brown sugar, vanilla and had a touch of dark fruit with a sweet and warming finish. Medium to full bodied, oily texture, lively carbonation.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Batch 2, bottled 25MAY12
Pours a lovely crimson with a touch of mahogany, nice tan sheet atop this one. Smells, mmm, good. Caramel, nougat, some crystal malts, some hints of toffee, a little vanilla and Jordan almonds - lovely nose. Taste is candied walnut, a hint of alcohol, some nougat, some bread (hawaiian rolls), a little touch of oak and bitterness. Medium bodied with light carb and a numbing after affect. This is a real surprise. At $7/bomber - hard to pass up now that I’ve seen it... Might go buy the rest of ’em.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Tawny red pour, off-white head that disappears. Nose is bourbon, cherry pie, raisins, fig cookie, some ash. Taste is bourbon barrel, sweet malts, spicyness frim the bourbon barrel, cherries, raisins, barrel and bitterness to the finish. Sticky, oily mouthfeel. One of if not the best year-round shelf beers available in my area.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours half a glass of foam. Very frothy. Its got that thick amber color characteristic of a bock. The rick amber nose is drowned in alcohol. The flavor is malty sweet alcohol finished with tinge. As for the barrel aging, why? Maybe its added some vanilla to this alcoholic bock. ewww.
