Maverick34 (427), New York, USA Jul 4, 2008 I had this last october, and it was a bad experiment. The red, the taste, it was just all wrong. Nice creativity but... MullMan (1015), Bloomfield, New Jersey, USA Feb 2, 2008 on tap at the Spuyten Duyvil. BRIGHT pinkish red/magenta colored body, like nothing else. Bright pink creamy head. BRIGHT! aroma is hoppy, sweaty, vegetal. flavor is hoppy, bitter leafy, & a bit medicinal, but also lots of caramel malt. finish gets more hoppy bitter. more on the hoppy side, but decent enough balance of caramel malt. yobdoog (350), Woodridge, New York, USA Jan 30, 2008 I had this on draft. What an insane color. The beer and the head were crazy red with a hint of blood orange. I had such a hard time getting past the color that I didn’t have to much to say abou the beer. Not much of an Ofest for me. No spices. Some malts and sweet flavor with some pungent bitterness. BREWMUSKCLES (731), WEEHAWKEN, New Jersey, USA Nov 27, 2007 good flavor as an amber astringent pale ale. bright red color with no other apparent alteration. bitter tang and hoppy citrus mid palate. sudsy foamy and not an octoberfest by a long shot....but hey not a bad beer! puzzl (1648), New York, New York, USA Nov 13, 2007 Draft at Hop Devil. WTF orange. Seriously.
No, seriously. Why does this have a bright orange head. Weak, light cranberry aroma. Rice. Goes down easy, light corn/rice taste, fusels, tar. Not as drinkable as a real octoberfest. And if this weren’t bright bullshit orange I would’ve given it a 3.1.
