Although there is a little bit of stickiness/creaminess in the middle, I just don’t find enough of malt, hop or yeast to produce a lasting, substantial beer. If you’re going to go low on malt sweetness in this style, at least add some decent hop crispness or nice yeast bite. Almost no aroma. Palidor19 (1772), Brandon, Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 22, 2008 love the look, its a nice reddish color even though the color has nothing to do with the flavor. malty, with a sharp bitter hoppness. The rest works very well. nick76 (2657), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 22, 2008 The aroma is hoppy and malty with some caramel but it’s really simple. The appearance is really fitting it’s RED. :-) The head is medium sized and foamy. The flavor is like the the aroma, simple but effective. The palate is smooth. Overall it is a creative beer from the packaging to the beer itself. Really good stuff. mjg74 (1997), La Mesa, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Oct 21, 2008 Bomber from Whole Foods. Light purple in color. Looks like a lambic, wish it smelled like one. Aroma is sweet and malty. Malty flavor dominates. Some bready qualities to the malt. Smooth mouth with some hops in the finish. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Oct 21, 2008 Bottle from BevMo in Vacaviille, CA. Poured a red color, yes that’s red. But’s that where this beer stopped being cool. Malty beer with a hop finish that left a metallic taste on my palate. Nice gimmick. phishpond417 (1935), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 20, 2008 Pours a bright reddish pink colour with a large pink head. Aroma is of pumpkin seeds, almonds and toffee. Also noticeable hops as well. Taste is malty, flavors of seeds and carrots. Mouthfeel is light, sort of thin. An interesting bottle, interesting colour. OVerall i thought it was a decent brew but nothing incredible. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 1/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 19, 2008 Holy shit, this stuff is fucking blood red. Holy hell does that look delicious. Nose: nothing... extremely transparent and mild. Close your eyes and it actually does come across as a marzen or vienna, there’s a nice smoothness throughout, almost creamy, and a nice and even caramel toffee malt flavor with a touch of fruity and dried hop leaves. Interesting beer if you can get past the color. Not all that bad, the body is especially nice, very creamy and thick. Butters (1646), Virginia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 19, 2008 Blood red pour with pink head! And a 6.66 abv! I was a little freaked out at first. Nose is light grain and a little grass. Flavor is malty up front but has a dose of hops in the finish. Medium thin body. Don’t think this beer is particularly that good, but as a novelty, I will definitely pick up a bottle or two every year for Halloween!
