Reddish brown with a small pink head. Lots of fruit comes through on the nose including raspberries. Not expected. Medium mouthfeel. Fruitiness comes though with a touch of bitter hops.

first let me say this is not an octoberfest nor marzen, forget about that. This is some kind of rouge colored beer that may think its approaching fest intaste but never gets there. Yes, it is purplish red on the pour. BTW had this on tap at bocktown monaca. Smells like any other clean beer. Thin creamy head. Nice lacing. Weird flavors of bitter sensations. Finish is medicinal. Yes, you can be sure this is not an october fest - I’d say it is a veggie spice beer.

12 oz. bottle@ Table and Vine. Lager glass shows an interesting red ruby color with a full pink head. It kind of looks like Mountain Dew Code Red. Low carbonation. Nose has some grain and substantial hop notes. The flavor starts with light caramel and light fruit notes. The finish has lots of hop bite. Lingering hop bitterness. The funny thing is, it kind of works as an IPA... the only problem is I was wanting a Marzen; Which this CLEARLY isn’t. Don’t expect an Octoberfest.

Tap at Jack Rose. Pours a clear pink (?) with pink foam. Pink lacing. Nose is stale cheesy hops, small strawberry. Taste is vegetal, bitter root vegetables, dust, paper, sharp chemical. No good. Astringent, chemical. Can't drink. Switching to Octomore 5.

From a 12 oz bottle at a tasting. Pours dark pink with a light pink lasting head. Not much flavor to match the color. Not great.

Holy hops Batman! That is one red beer. Looks like a framboise lambic in the glass. Clean, boring amber lager aroma. The taste is just a light bitterness. This beer smells and tastes nothing like it looks.. reaffirming you should never judge a beer by its bottle.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours a rather terrifying reddish brown (leaning towards red) with a thick pink head. With that alone, I’m scared (and not because I’m rating this on Halloween - the last red/pink beer I had, I poured down the toilet). Fairly hoppy, which was a nice surprise. Taste was a little malty, but not all that strong. Despite the awful appearance, this ended up being pretty good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating(but apparently from last year). Pours lightly hazy reddish copper color with a nice 2 finger dense light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Good spotty lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of pear, apple, raisin, caramel, toast, molasses, biscuit, nuttiness, and light earthiness. Pretty nice aromas with good strength and balance. Taste of caramel, pear, raisin, toast, toffee, apple, molasses, biscuit, earth, and light herbal spiciness. Lingering notes of caramel, pear, raisin, toast, molasses, biscuit, earth, and light herbal spiciness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and robustness of flavors; almost zero cloying sweetness present on the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a creamy and fairly slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with almost zero warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a nice Oktoberfest style. Nice balance and robustness of flavors; very smooth to drink. This is fairly on par with the style as well. Definitely an enjoyable offering.
