Aurelius (2643), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Sep 17, 2009 Light, tangy aroma. I passed this brew by a couple of times, since the label looks like the cap and I thought that I’d had it. I was totally unprepared for the froot punch rose color with the pink head. Bitter, lemon pith flavor. Dry. Unpleasantly bitter finish on a medium body which really kills off the enjoyment of the beer. Wouldn’t take anotehr one for free. Market Square Liquors. Snojerk321 (1918), San Diego, California, USA Sep 17, 2009 Pours a clear koolaid red with frothy pinkish head, light lacing. Faint nose of some toasted malts, grain and light hops. A cool gimmicky beer, not much else. robforbes (1083), Bremerton, Washington, USA Sep 8, 2009 pours a clear dark red, heavy carbonation, a medium size dark pink head, and a little lacing.
smell is of grain, a few malts, hops, and some raspberry.
taste is of grain, sour malt, dandelion, hops in the back, raspberry, and some caramel, ends dry.
overall a very strange beer, not that bad just cant get past the color, also has a weird taste that i cant put my finger on. MrBunn (1523), Western, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 6, 2009 Bomber. I’m a little sick of odd colored beer, and this is no exception. Imagine my surprise (unsuspecting victim that I am) when the pour was a candy apple red with a massive pick fizzy/foamy head. (I’m having flashbacks to Romulan Ale and Magic Hat Wacko, which are two of my most hated experiences in the last year.) Still, I’ll give this one a shot. Aromas are fairly weak... a bit of dough, light brown sugar and some apple or fruit of some sort... it’s hard, though, when your eyes are assaulted at every turn. Flavor is pretty non-eventful. A bit of an oktoberfest boozy graininess to it, some caramel and a funkiness that might be the dye or whatever. A tingly alcohol presence throughout. 502Flavors (617), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Sep 4, 2009 Bomber at $5. Wow, just upon pouring, I know this is a freak bear. Ruby red with a big creamy pink (?!) head. Despite the appearance, it smells like a normal marzen - light, a bit doughy, a bit of dark fruit in there. Flavor is pretty simple, but solid. ots of cereal notes, and some booze on the finish. Medium bodied with soft medium carbonation. Overall: Ok, this stuff is by no means great, but I think it is getting some harsh ratings here. thedm (3833), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Sep 3, 2009 This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy finely sized pink, yes pink, colored bubbles that were and left behind a transparent typically carbonated red brown colored body and a very nice lacing. How does one rate an atrificial color? The mild aroma was fruity and reminiscient, perhaps due to the color, of strawberries. The crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The strange weird flavor contained notes of malt and soft hops. Not one that I would buy again. GG (1613), NorCal, California, USA Jul 5, 2009 Uh...this kinda freaked us out when we poured it. It was the last 2nd beer we tried and we thought maybe something went awry in the brewing process. Blood/brick red is not a normal color, but it was kind cool. Honeyish aroma, some vegie type aroma (creamed corn I guess) and paper mache. Flavor was far sweeter than the style calls for, with big honey flavor, grassy bitterness and light finish. Freaktoberfest indeed. dmschefke (371), Eastpointe, Michigan, USA Jun 15, 2009 I just can’t get over this beer. Pours a blood red, which freaked me out and likely ruined a lot of my experience with it, has a thin pinkish hued head, and minimal carbonation. Aroma slighly hoppy, strong malt, and a taste that I can’t place (probably in my mind). Flavor matches and isn’t that bad, but I can’t get over it. I would drink it again only for novelty purposes.
