3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. The pour was a murky dark red almost cranberry in color with a huge (3-4 finger) frothy pink head that had good retention and some really good lacing that was left sticking to the edges of the glass.
The aroma was of a toasted bread malt, a citrus hop and a mild sweet yeast with notes of caramel, orange and a nice dose of cherries.
It tasted malty sweet with a hint of orange at first then became ever so lightly bitter with a nice fruity finish that left the flavor lasting an average duration preceding the swallow.
Mouthfeel was light to medium in body and watery yet lightly dry in texture with a mild carbonation.
Overall an interesting take on a traditional brew, very tasty and refreshingly different.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle. Copper color with thin white head. Strange and mild perfume of espresso (diner quality), mild all spice and stewed fall veggies. Taste is bitter and sweet, in uneven turns. Must and espresso. Some spice on finish. Sweet malts. Better than a straight up pumpkin beers, but not a finished product. Yikes.

0.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
(bottle - 12 oz) Reddish pour with a pink head. Vegetal and sour aroma. Some malts maybe. Flavor is rancid and overly sweet. Just wrong.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Well the red copperish colour certainly makes this an appropriate Halloween beer. Medium pink hued head that dissipates fairly quickly. Sweet malty aroma. Caramel body, bit acidic. Looked good for the day but overall not great.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
The beer pours blood red and has clarity. It forms a one inch tall, pinkish head on top. It is light and soapy which makes for a quick fade to a light ring of foam around the edge of the glass. Lacing is minimal. The aroma is kind of candy sweet with a mix of muddled hops. There is a nice mix of sweet candy like, bready and lightly toasted malts with a decent balance of hops. The hops offer an odd muddled mix of leafy, earthy and herbal spice notes with just a hint of citrus in there too. The palate has about a medium body with an average carbonation and mouth feel.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma is a sweet grassy hop aroma. Some sweet caramel notes. Some bitter snap to it that finishes with a tanginess. Overall not terribly complex and the bitterness is a bit off. The body is a clear red appearance with a pink head that retains fairly well.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Rating #954 - February 7, 2014 - Bottle from Coop, trying to clear out some more room. Dark ruby caramel pour with a bubbly white head. Aroma has a hint of malty, fruity sweetness, and a strong grassy whiff. Medium carbonation. Bubbly, dry mouthfeel, medium-bodied. Weird sensation, and maybe this got syrupy and lost something with age, but I get an odd mix of kriek and pils in this, and it’s beyond unpleasant. Not to my taste.
