Hazy and creamy head. huge yeast aroma, has a whiskey note as well and some cereal and cherry notes. Big beer, with a hot finish and a big profile and a sweet flavour. Great beer!!

Lagerboy (1071) - British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 6, 2013
Bomber. Mostly clear brown-ish orange, small lasting creamy tan head. Aroma of caramel malt and fruity yeast. Sweet caramel toasted malts dominate the taste, fruity and boozy, some light bitterness. Average carbonation, medium-full bodied, lightly hopped. Packs a wallop, the high ABV and dense sweet maltiness make this lager NFL (Not For Lagerboys)

I think I have figured out I am not a big fan of dopplebocks outside of ceoebrator... like others I have tried, this has too much cloying sweetness, big pine hops and a little too much alcohol in taste. a bomber of this just gets old after awhild

UPDATED: APR 11, 2013 Smells like a barleywine, very little head... good taste on the front end but way too bitter on the finish.. kills the experience.... very flavorful, malty and hoppy all at once! Couldnt finish...and gave me the runs the next morning

Beerenberger (1276) - Fischer, Texas, USA - MAR 26, 2013
Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, with hints of fruit. Pours a clear dark amber with a mostly lasting tan head and ample laciing. The taste is moderately sweet. Toasted malts, caramel, with hints of dark fruit and an alcohal presence. There is a lingering alcohal burn in the aftertaste. Medium body with medium carbonation. Overall, while tasty, I wish it was less sweet.

I love the mouthfeel of this beer. it’s like a werthers original lolly. big bright malt bomb. slightly too much alcohol in the aroma and taste, but just slightly. really delicious otherwise

brown with a large tan head and long retention. roast, dark fruits, toffee, raisin, sugar, harsh biting hops. heavy cloying sweetness, medium bitterness. full body, creamy feel, moderate carb, long bitter finish. a very "American" interpretation of a doppelbock. the bitterness is honestly overdone for the style and it starts to feel more like a really dark barleywine instead.

Clear mahogany pour with a tan head. Molasses and rum on the nose with lots of cooked fruit, brown sugar. Really boozy on the palate with a deep fruit character and some whiskey notes. Robust in body.
