some nice aromas .. from light pine to apple .. an ok brew .. but lacks any complexity ..strange flavours, worse as it warms ..a decent lager but nothing at all special..the label will get ya...

Bottle. Pours a nice clear amber with a bubbly white head. The aroma is Saaz hops. Taste is a "European" hoppiness. Very lagerish and dry.

Draft, Beer Island at the one and only Coney Island. Pours a transparent ruby color, moderate head. Lacy finish sticks to side of glass throughout the drink. Aroma is very faint and with sharp hop character. Taste is highly bitter with a hint of caramel. Palate is below average and goes down harsh with harsh aftertaste. Very dry. Expected more from this one but you might as well give it a shot if you are out on the boardwalk.

daknole (7211) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - JAN 29, 2009
Bottle. Another day another bland lager. Golden pour, white head. Very malty nose with some hop notes. Flavor is bland and boring. NOTHING to distinguish itself from any other lager.

Tap. Pour clear amber with a small off-white head and minimal lacing. Aroma belies color; pilsnery dominated by grain and perhaps caramel. Pilsnery in flavor as well, with some caramel/roasted notes and a little bitterness in the body and finish, although I could not detect any hops-related flavor notes to go along with the bitter. Watery in mouthfeel. Its hard to believe that this color was not helped along given the lack of character in the beer (although perhaps the contract brewer screwed up?)

On tap at the Bocktown, really nice place. Creamy white head with a fairly fruity smell. Pale yellow like a ubiquitous american lager. Somewhat bitter lager sensations. Really has some ropey or leather sensation in there. Much lager personality. Stronger than many lagers. Medium bitter medicinal finish.

Pours a nice copper brown color with small amount of foamy offwhite head. Aroma is very very sweet with slight citric tones. Flavor very very sweet and carmely (too much for my liking) and a bit of biscut to it. Overall, not personally a fan, but I know my dad really liked it. If you’re into sweet beers this one is up your alley.

Cobra (1096) - In a van, down by the river, Maryland, USA - DEC 20, 2007
UPDATED: DEC 21, 2007 A Vienna? I don’t think so. More like a soapy, cheap lager. Aromas are of soap, as well as the flavors. Nothing special here. Wish I could get a refund on all the money I’ve spent on bad beer. Maybe I got a bad bottle?

5 beers in. The aroma meets you with a slight hop aroma - probably saaz. Makes you want to drink this beer. As soon as the beer enters the mouth, you want to swallow it so that you can get rid of the taste - spitting a beer our is against everything that means something to me in my life! In short, it reminds me of bud light, miller light, and all of the other swill the american beer industry pushes on everyone! Now, that I notice that this is a vienna lager, maybe it needs a lime to make it palletable.
