COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A dry hopped American Rye Pilsener. Obey the siren song of the mythological Coney Island Mermaid. Four spicy hops flow into seven golden malts. Perfect as a momentary distraction, or equally enchanting as a parade towards deeper delights. When beer tastes this good, and you donít have scurvy, you donít need a lime!

bottle listed as 5.5%. Pours an orange gold with nice frothy white head. Aroma is lightly spicy, with rye notes, cayenne pepper, biscuit like malt, cajun. Flavor is spicy hops, not much malt, with a bitterness on the finish I find a bit astringent. Not bad, but wonít be back. Probably better on draft.

Draft. Pours a golden amber, darker than a pilsner normally is, with a medium-sized white head. Aroma is bready and slightly sweet with lots of floral, spicy hops. Flavor is fairly malty with some fruitiness and a rye tang and a good hop bite that accentuates the rye. Light body. Itís not quite a pils, but I like it.

$7.99 growler filled about 20 minutes ago from Brew York (inside Duane Reed on 72nd and Broadway). Clear medium amber (darker than what a pils should be) with a creamy one finger very light taupe, fading to a thick film within a minute or two. A small head does rouse, but fades just the same. Aroma of cracker malt and some toastiness as well, light fruity yeast. Flavor had some light fruity yeast along with some cracker bready malts, light honey sweetness. Minimal hay notes. Lightly sweet finish with bitterness peaking at a 2. Soft carbonation with a light to medium body. Not bad (or flawed) other than it not being a pils, A little bit of a letdown for me.

Pours a clear golden color with a decently sized bubbly white head. The head quickly fades and leaves good lacing. Aroma is of bready yeast and spicy hops, nothing else is really getting through. Flavor is of grass, hay, spices, and a touch of sweetness in the finish. Not bad, but not great.

Pour is a light golden color with a tiny white head. Nose is of light hops, and the taste is a slight bit more complex than the nose but nothing all to special. Decent beer all the same.

12 oz bottle. Surprisingly good pilsner. Light hops on the nose, but a nice hop bite and a clean finish. Well crafted, tasty. I donít have anything else to say.

Pours a golden amber. It has notes of hops (spice and fruit) with on the nose and the palate. It has a good bitter hopped finish.

12oz bottle 2/17/11 (Binnyís-Downers Grove singles rack)-54į in Flute-Pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma of hops, malt, and grass. Taste of the same with some more hops. This medium bodied brew is well balanced and quite easy to drink. Another good brew from Schmaltz. Nice job.

Lucent gold, thin white head, medium body, medium-high carnation.

Aroma: hay, pale malt, herbal noble hops.

Taste: hay, herbal noble hops, pale malt, and bready yeast.

IMO, more of a pale ale with german hops than a pilsner.

From a bottle acquired at beermuda in new ken. Smells pilzy and a little veggie on the pop. Some pilsner bite on the first taste. Much less bite than stronger pilsners so its a little enjoyable even tho it does have a definate beer personality. Pale colored and medium pilsner finish. Decent beer experience.
