COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A dry hopped American Rye Pilsener. Obey the siren song of the mythological Coney Island Mermaid. Four spicy hops flow into seven golden malts. Perfect as a momentary distraction, or equally enchanting as a parade towards deeper delights. When beer tastes this good, and you don’t have scurvy, you don’t need a lime!

Pours a clear golden color with a decently sized bubbly white head. The head quickly fades and leaves good lacing. Aroma is of bready yeast and spicy hops, nothing else is really getting through. Flavor is of grass, hay, spices, and a touch of sweetness in the finish. Not bad, but not great.

Pour is a light golden color with a tiny white head. Nose is of light hops, and the taste is a slight bit more complex than the nose but nothing all to special. Decent beer all the same.

12 oz bottle. Surprisingly good pilsner. Light hops on the nose, but a nice hop bite and a clean finish. Well crafted, tasty. I don’t have anything else to say.

Pours a golden amber. It has notes of hops (spice and fruit) with on the nose and the palate. It has a good bitter hopped finish.

12oz bottle 2/17/11 (Binny’s-Downers Grove singles rack)-54° in Flute-Pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma of hops, malt, and grass. Taste of the same with some more hops. This medium bodied brew is well balanced and quite easy to drink. Another good brew from Schmaltz. Nice job.

Lucent gold, thin white head, medium body, medium-high carnation.

Aroma: hay, pale malt, herbal noble hops.

Taste: hay, herbal noble hops, pale malt, and bready yeast.

IMO, more of a pale ale with german hops than a pilsner.

From a bottle acquired at beermuda in new ken. Smells pilzy and a little veggie on the pop. Some pilsner bite on the first taste. Much less bite than stronger pilsners so its a little enjoyable even tho it does have a definate beer personality. Pale colored and medium pilsner finish. Decent beer experience.

(Sample Date: 5/19/2010 Source:Commercial Taphouse) Light spicy hop aroma. Very slight chill haze orange golden with small white head. Medium body and mouth. Moderately fruity with pineapple citrus hop notes. Pilsner with a American hop profile. Okay.

If I hadn’t been perusing the tap list for a new tick, I probably wouldn’t’ve found this beer, and that would’ve been a shame. Very enjoyable. Spicy and sweet, with an odd flavor I couldn’t quite pinpoint. I see here that rye was involved, so I suppose that could explain it. Very tasty beer.

The Half Pint, NY ($6): Pours a golden color with a white head. Aroma of grain, hops, and some sweetness. This is certainly no super dry German pilsener (even though it was dry-hopped), instead it was somewhat sweet (no surprise that a lot of people are speculating about the corn... but maybe it was the rye). There is moderate hops, but not in a really interesting way. I mean it is a very drinkable beer, which is not at all offensive, but then again not all that great.
