COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The east side of Des Moines is a community within a community. Historically an area of blue-collar workers who developed a strong sense of community, “east side pride” has long been part of the metro Des Moines lexicon. Eastsiders are also famous to be among the first to offer friends and neighbors a hand in time of need. We’ve brought this east side attitude to a distinctive beer that features three base malts — including Munich and six specialty/caramel malts for a robust malty flavor. Then we added some German hops for balance and a little subtle extra east side attitude (spiciness). Like its namesake, East Side Attitude is hard-working, unpretentious, neighborly and always eager to add spice to a celebration among friends.

Aroma is earthy/gritty malts, malts and a hint of candied fruit. The flavor is earthy malts, candied fruit, slight sugar/cloying notes and a tangy/sour finish.

On tap at Stella in I.C. Fairly smooth malty beer. A little dusty finish. Kind of thin, but decent flavors.

GrowLOLer. Pour was a dirty amber, some white head, decent looking beer. Some solid caramel malts, a little stale-ish tasting but it might have been my mostly ruined palate. Should try again when in Des Moines.

Tap at the brewpub. The body was reddish brown with a medium khaki head on top The nose was dusty old books and potatoes. There was also some fresh hay. The taste was fresh grains and grass. There was also a nice note of tobacco and toffee. Very well done.
