3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
When I bought this I didn’t know what I was getting into. But now I know. I was pleasantly surprised! It was quite enjoyable. No pain whatsoever. None! A nice refreshing bitter and I believe I purchased this at Roger Wilco because it held the title in 1999 at some beer award ceremony. Enjoyed!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a clear copper color with an off white head that settles to a constant film. Aroma of bread crust, slight malt sweetness and floral scents. Taste has some biscuit malt with a prevalent smooth spiciness that calls to mind white pepper. A touch of orange rind bitterness and some minerality round out the flavors. Light bodied with medium/high carbonation. Very enjoyable and easy to drink. An excellent session ale that leans more on the hops than other English beers of this style, and for the better. I liked it very much.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours a cloudy caramel color with an eggshell frothy white head that takes its time to dissipate and laces the glass well. Aroma is yeasty caramel with a very faint orange blossom, jasmine. Feels thick on the mouth with a very soft creamy carbonation - very near nitro. A slightly sour wateriness at first that comes around almost immediately to malt. Some very very very faint cherry spice near the end and a clean finish with just a small touch of bitterness on the tongue. I keep coming back to a faint lemon tea. It’s good, but its not as flavorful as its mouthfeel suggests. I keep wanting a bit more flavor, and that seems like it might be intentional. With the soft carbonation and light flavor I could certainly settle into a few of these, but probably only if all other options were limited.

Pours pale amber. Small amount of particulate matter, but otherwise clear. Big tan head dissipates quickly. Aroma is jammy and a tad soapy. Medium body. Metalic finish. Hmm.
