Backlog. On tap at Green Lion Inn. A decent English bitter that’s for sure.

Pour on tap at Churchkey DC, hazy reddish orange pour with thin white head, aroma was big creamy biscuit, bread, nice grassy, spicy and yeasty notes, nice and subtle vanilla and honey notes as well. Taste is a mix of sweet and soft cracker, biscuit, some acidic malts as well into a touch of grass, spice and hints of white fruit, finishing fairly bitter, slightly sweet. Well done.

Draft. Poured straw/pale gold with a smallish white head. Aroma was light malt, some spicy hops. Flavor was light malts and some light citrusy, spicy hops up front, followed by bready malt and some fruity notes. Grew on beer and opened up nicely as it warmed. Light, slightly creamy mouth feel.

Pompa @ flint pub. Chiara con schiuma fine e persistente. Leggera, beverina. Già al naso si sente un po’ di luppolo, impressione confermata in bocca, finale in po’ corto... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iFox

Cask draft at Strangelove. The beer engine nicely opens up this otherwise standard bitter. Cloudy peach pour with a very frothy head. Tastes of a complicated sour toasted wheat beer. Good body. Good brew.

Firkin at Real Ale. Poured a nice clean gold with some head and lace. Nose of originated beer, butter, some light malts. So buttery, drain pour.

Cask @ Yorkshire House, Lancaster 050113
Amber, clear, dense thin white head, some lacing
Aroma - soft malts, light aroma
Taste - caramel malt, some pale toffee, some soft bitter bit citrus hops, easy, refreshing, then biscuity malts come thorough in the finish
Palate - thinnish body but some oiliness, good texture for abv. Finish - some nice digestive biscuit with a light bitter linger, slight mineral edge
Overall - The cask is far better than the bottle

Cask conditioned handpump Swan & Rushes Leicester 05/12/12. An amber coloured beer with a whitish head and lace. A pretty full bodied flavoursome fruity beer. Plenty of hops and body giving malts. Well balanced and tasty with a lovely bitter finish.

Half-pint, hand-pulled at the Firs Club, Codsall on 17 Nov 2012. Although I’ve had this at the brewery pub years back I couldn’t really remember anything about it: I still don’t. Light amber body with a thin white head. Aroma was fairly weak: malty mostly, but after the initial caramel hints a fruity, more hoppy smell arrives. The taste is also malts initially with a fruitier and dry hoppy underbelly. Pleasant enough and my first beer at the Real Ale Festival the club was holding. A good solid session bitter with nothing that is going to upset anyone with strong or powerful flavours.

On cask at Sun Inn, Crook in Cumbria - a classic session ale with a creamy palate.
