2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
August 2016 - Cask handpull at GBBF 2016, as ’Coniston Bluebird Bitter’. Golden orange, clear, still, small off-white head. Aroma is bready, touch of sulphur, well trodden carpet. Body is quite light with tingly carbonation. Taste is thin bready malt, fairly watery, carpet mustiness. I guess it was good for its time, but I’ve had many bitters I prefer. (2.9)

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Grain and cereal malts, nothing more really. Clear, dark gold, medium, frothy, white head. Light bitter. Grain malts continue, light bread and a touch of caramel, very soft carbonation, light bodied. This is one boring Bitter yet also totally inoffensive. Cask at GBBF16, Olympia.

Cask (backlog). Golden colour, not that much head. Aroma is floral, fruity, some mild herbal and grassy notes along with mild toffee. Flavour is herbal, grassy, floral and mildly bready malts to it. Very basic, and not all too exciting.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Appearance: clear darker golden color, almost some amber hues, not much of a head Aroma: very creamy, butterscotch, maybe a hint of mint, smells very good Taste: sweet and bitter battle it out, bitter finish, butterscotch, very unique and interesting, Palate: very lively carbonation, bitter after taste, light mouthfeel, leaves mouth dry Overall: I really like a beer like this, it’s somehow sweet and bitter, light mouthfeel, seems complex, tried from draft ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
