1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 Drake (4803) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - DEC 20, 2011
500 mL bottle from Beer Run. Pours a murky amber with a thin fizzy tan head that fades quickly. Not much for looks. Aroma of tart malts, cherries, caramel, tea, funk. The taste is caramel, toffee, tart malts and a leafy hop finish. Medium bodied. Some pretty serious infection notes. Very disappointing, especially since I loved the regular version so much.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 ElDesmadre (383) - Mikołów, POLAND - DEC 9, 2011
Bottle. Golden with a small head. Aroma is malt, toffee, pine, grapefruit and some mango, albeit lacking in depth. Taste is balanced but also quite tame and watery. Malty with toffee, hop aroma is only medium, bitterness is disappointingly low. Negligible amount of aftertaste. Nice idea for a beer but poorly executed.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20 Benjii (1686) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - NOV 5, 2011
In bottle. Pours a light golden colour with a thick white head. Aroma of bubblegum, pine, caramel and passion fruit. Flavours of bubblegum and passion fruit again with some yeast also. A little dry and thin. Nice chewy mouth-feel. Moderate carbonation and CO2 prickle.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 wlajwl (1479) - Iowa, USA - AUG 28, 2011
Malty with a hoppy edge to it. Kind of close to a bitter only with enough hops to make it unique, it cleans up well.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 yngwie (8717) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - MAY 17, 2011
Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. It pours a clear, golden body and a small, off-white head. Citrusy, peachy nose with a touch of malts. Bitter in the mouth, but not very bitter. Peachy and slightly citrusy, finishing much in the same way. Medium body. Nothing impressive going on here, but quite decent. 110129
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 EdKing (772) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 26, 2011
A superb variation on the Bluebird Bitter using American Mt Hood hops. The result is very close to an American pale ale or IPA. Appearance is pale hazy. Aroma is herbal with tangerine, and the taste is a lovely balance of caramel malt, zesty American hops and a subtle toffee finish. Great British version of an American pale ale and one I’ll be stocking in future.
